  1. I have a indoor 3 feet tank, running on 2 PC fan alone! running only in the day , when lights are on; average temp day is 26- 28, at nite w/o fans is 24-26) I place one on each end, with one inverted, so air goes in and gets carried out other end. Place nearer your lights source, as the heat is the main problem.Evaporation rate is very high, 1.5 litres a day!
  2. I am using aqua medic's Denitrator , better check also your phosphates levels. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/...p?article_id=15 http://www.aqua-medic.de/index0.html ( surf to their products, Sentosa marine carries thier prodcuts.
  3. problem with feeding them chunky food, like prawn-if you have voracious fishes, prawns, they tend to snatch it from the corals!!!as corals are filter feeders, go with target liquid food.I am using a cocktail of dried cyclop -eeze.combined with plankton....(( shaken not stirred!!!)) - for the thieving prawns, I will feed them some chunks 1st, let them spent time taking care of that before targeting the corals.
  4. I set up my tank in november last year......had a pair normal red one that lasted till now, Introduce a pair of purple ones 3 motnhs ago..MIA now....I have a 7 foot tank.with lots of crevices.(they prefer caves to sleep/hide in.Coming out to feed in the day.Like to swim against the current when feeding.they are Docile by nature.I have some damsels.Think the damsels are the culprits.Brine shrimp (live or frozen) is fine for them.
  5. Crazy....Crazy SALE all the time (maybe take a break) last I was there, they renovated...new Cash counter, extra shelfing and all...thought they gonna go 24 hours as well!!!!. Then went dead quiet.Hope they come back on....nice equipment shop.(have to be more friendly though..like simle more often....)
  6. Bro- converting from fresh water to salt water... not as simple as that, Consider, 1) live rocks, 2) sand or no sand, 3) Protein skimmer (which you are-Beckett is great, you can get 1 around $600 fot the size you are mentioning. 4) cycling the water for a few weeks before introducing Life!. Cannister filters work ok, provided you do weekly water changes of 15 to 20 percent. But a sump is definitely a better option..Aquamarin ar Jalan Kayu , have a good range/price. check them out
  7. I am hearing that the competition tanks for aquarama are for sale(below $400/-) includes sump/ cabinet, any truth? I am game to take 2 sets!!!(heard from my LF shop contact
  8. I have a outdoor tank too...crucial to run a chiller...as ambient temperature can reach 37 degree even under a roof( I tried raising plankton with flourescent lights outdoor) If you have lighting which I assume you have. It raise the temperature of the water. Fans help a little only. I can only guess the water in yor tank would be around 28-30 degrees.Bottled ice /ice blocks will fluctuate the water too drastically (more than you imagine) Bottom line = Invest in a chiller!!! Place your brain on the sand bed..away from the heat of lights
