  1. try to monitor your evaporation everyday, and add in the freshwater on a regular basis, i believe your corals will benefit more from the stability if possible, get a automatic top off device, i do not have one, but if i had the money, would love to btw, copepod is a insect like marine crustacean, in SRC, simply means you have reached a new level of posting i was a copepod before *remembers the good old days*
  2. Hi, your cleaner wrasse feeding on any prepared food? easy to wean onto prepared food? thanks! nice sun corals!
  3. thanks Qxnviolet, but currently my tank i feel a bit overcrowded with fish le, must offload one fish before i purchase the RG still waiting for friend's tank to cycle =)
  4. http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...topic=44218&hl= try reading up on this thread he bought the 850 tank
  5. ok la, its all about sharing of tips and tricks to maintaining healthy aquarium as long as dont flame here flame there can le
  6. both are activated carbons? actually a very serious discussion occured btw the originator of chemipure and aquapharm(if u managed to dig out the thread) since the debate, i've decide to try chemipure by adding into my canister filter, but not much obvious results could be seen(other than the occasional crystal clear waters) i have since changed to using seachem's seagel, since it is a combination of carbon with phosphate removal, sounds much better than carbon alone, still monitoring my waters now hope it helps in a way
  7. yeah, got super sun leow got time come over my place for a suntan ok? hahaha
  8. wah, how big is your tank, 5 bottles is too much to add at one go, salinity changes too much, maybe you could add bit by bit everyday to help maintain a more or less stable salinity
  9. thanks neokn hopefully i will be able to get RG during their next shipment then cheers
  10. i do not have chiller, but from the reports seen on the forums, the chiller is rated based on their kick in timing vs idle timing. so over a 24 hour period, if it kicks in 1 min every 3 mins, means 8 hours of operation per day and using the above mentioned formulas, u get the monthly bills
  11. i think the calculation for neokn is a bit off the first eq, he mentioned wattage per day but actually he multiplied by 7, so it should be per week instead so the final figure should be divided by 7 to obtain the correct results **EDIT** 24x30x150W=108kW per month monthly bill = 108kW X 0.2102 / 1000 = $22.70
  12. regarding RG and BRG which are more aggressive? btw, nice pics of the RG in the wild, only can see in carribean? does msia or indon waters have RGs?
  13. semi aggresive doesnt sound much, but from what i heard, the royal dottyback is one of the most aggressive among the dottybacks plus, i think most ppl buy royal dottybacks due to the cheaper cost and very nice coloration, now i would rather get the RG instead
  14. super super dendro? think can have a new name for it already ultra dendro
  15. swing arm types tend to deviate from actual readings after some time i suggest getting the glass type, heard its better than swing arm for best results, get the refractometer btw, when u say u added in 5 bottles of 1.25L, what SG are they at? and what SG is your tank before the water change? are you doing water change or topping up water? basically, to top off evaporated water, use plain water will do to water change, mix a saltwater and obtain the same SG as your tank, and then siphon out the same amount of water, and pour in the newly mixed saltwater
  16. http://www.fallfactor.com/perspective.htm my rock climbing friend used to be buying stuff from here maybe u can find what u need from there cheers
  17. hmmm is there any way to fit in equipments? think it will be a major task to fit in the neccesary equips without spoiling the overall asthetic look of the tank
  18. erm what did u use to measure the SG? swing arm type hydrometer? glass floating type hyrometer? refractometer?
  19. nice tank, a first time i see the display being smaller than the sump, it only goes to show how much u care for the LS by the way, congrats on getting your elusive black cap, i am sure he will have a happy life in your aquarium cheers
  20. just food for thought, anyone without sump ever tried connecting the surface skimmer to a weipro?
