bro tone,juz a question to ask...the Reef Octopus recirculating needle-wheel skimmer.,do u use a stronger or weaker pump to pump the water into the skimmer???i was recommanded by lfs owner to use weaker pump(i use 500l/hr,my needlewheel pump is 1000l/hr) but its not skimming much.... oh i have a 2ftx1ftx1.5ft tank with 2x1x1sump and my lifestock is 1maroonclown,chromis,blackcap,3 small gobies,4 Snails,4Shrimp, n 1 sand dollar... can anyone help???

hi bros,2 days ago i juz bought a crocea(me clam newbie) but 2 DAYS ALREADY!!! n its still not extending its mantle fully(at most open up 1/2)..i read that croceas can open its mantle really wide so is my normal????any bros also recounter this problem b4?anyway i using 4xT5 n doing water change once a week...

AM is at jalan kayu...u won't miss it... there's quite a few fish farms in pasir ris farmway 2n 3...(irwana,ah beng.....) i personally goes to marinelife at hong heong shopping center(near clementi) n reborn(Near Boon keng station)..PR is near reborn... AA Aquaria Arts also bring brings in nice livestock from time to time too...(kallang) J & J Marine Life is currently having a sale but i dun noe where it is...u have check it out at the sponsor's page... there r other gd LFS n i'm sure other reefers will tell u more abt them...

Xtrader...Teco is definitely better than resun in terms of reliability...(the lifespan is longer)u dun pay the xtra cash 4 nothing.....but becoz the difference is so big i would say if the chiller spoils juz get a new one lor.... anyway its not that unreliable...i'm using a 2nd hand resun cl280 n it nvr gave me ani problem... the hp u should have actually depends.....remenber that u should also think abt the heat given out by the other equipments....(lightings.skimmer.return,pump.....) get a chiller one size bigger than wat u need is recommanded... (taken from webpage...CL 650 1/4Hp Suitable 4 ft tank Upto 500 liter ) so perhaps u would like to consider (CL 0500 1/2Hp Suitable 5 ft tank Upto 1200 liter) but l'm no expert....maybe some senior reefer could give their comment too?

so ani reefers using tapwater 4 water changes n topup water... without any algae growth...(using FR only)???? if yes...care to share the secret...?

wow..bro u got a really big budget....how i wish i got a budget like yrs....(haiz...poor reefer) since yr budget is so big...yes... the skimmer i think u should go 4 deltec or H&S... 4 chiller i suggest a brand new resun 650(should be enough)....save the money to spend on other equipment....(resun is value 4 money....) t5 is fine for yr tank...but opinions r divided over keeping clams n maybe some sps... with T5...Mh is definitely stronger but its also a lot HOTTER Too...!! (Look 4 sponser DE) FR with rowas n carbon make yr life a lot easier...if possible use DI water even better(scraping algae off the tank is really tireding) u also need current too..i think most reefers here use either tunze wavemakers(ex) or seio(cheaper).... i think u should get a CR with controller too and uv light set too... there r other items such as ozoniser.,denitrator n more which i think is gd to have but not essential.... hope that helps u...!!!

yup...try not to get the epoxyfix...the white colour looks really funny after u stick it in the tank... although i think coralline algae will eventually grow over it...

r they croceas?do u put it near to the light source?do u think i can increase the intensity of the lighting if i change 1 of the actinic to white light?

thanx 4 the suggestions bro naka,but the pricerange a bit on the high side n while the ballest can support up to 440watts...i probably only 4 to 5 tubes of 24watts T5... seriously underdsing the ballest.....anyway bro naka,u kept a lot of clams,do u think 4 tubes T5 is enough 4 a crocea if i put it really close to the light source...let say 4+inchs....thx..
