Those algae look like bryopsis (feathery appearance). They will take over your tank if you don't keep them under control... i used to have one or two patches on my base rocks.... did not pluck them out as I thought they looked great.... now I have a lawn on some of the rocks... and they spread really fast.... from what I have read (but nvr tried), ur tangs won't touch it. someone started a thread on bryopsis a couple of weeks back...

setup sold. Thanks!

skimmer sold! thanks for your interest.

Hi all, Thanks for the interest and enquiries... I am selling the setup as I have upgraded to a 3 footer... My intention is to sell the setup as a package to avoid the hassle of having to handle too many pms for individual stuff, arranging appointments for pickup and the frustrations of being aeroplaned. hope you guys will understand. Will decide to sell off as individual items should the package deal don't work. Thanks.... killfire

hmmm...maybe we can start a new thread on the use of waste water then =)... mop floor, water plants, top up water for planted tank (fresh water) hmm... what else??
-
Thanks for the info & comments... was considering the smaller system as I need about 6L (1.5G) of water daily for topping up ... my tank is only a 3' x 2' x 1.5'. So the 35GPD may be more than sufficient for my water needs...

About to purchase the above (http://www.kentmarine.com/html/maxxima.html) from the states. Was quoted quite reasonable freight charges by Fedex delivery (3 day) but want to find out if this unit is a good buy.... any comments?? Thanks.

Still have the above for sale. The person who reserved it earlier aeroplanded. Pm if you are interested.

For reflectors (polished Al) you can call the following: > Lim Eng Chuan > Guan Seng Electrical Service Co. > No.283, Kranji Rd, s(739515) > tel: 62699453 they sell reflectors with different widths and lengths. Some come with adjustable widths to accomodate diff. nos. of tubes. hope this helps.

Pardon me but what does TLC stand for? Thanks

I have a hammer drill if you need to borrow one. I stay in Woodlands near Admiralty MRT. However, you need to pick up the drill tonight after 8:00pm. I am away from tomorrow onwards till Sat. As for the drill bit, I don't think they sell 5mm drill bits, I have some other sizes that you might want to use. sms me at 96980393. killfire

I don't think your flowrate will drop by 1000 l/h due to the 90 deg elbows unless you have fitted some reducers in the pipeline. 1000l/h is a lot of flow loss....leh! Alternatively, you can use two 45 deg elbows in each corner to smoothen out the flow round the corners. If you have 1500 l/h from each o/p ... wouldn't that be too strong as well?? That is equivalent to 416 ml/s or filling up 1-1/3 coke cans per second for each o/p! I hope you don't create a washing m/c environment!!
-
Might be possible to install a ball valve at each o/p to regulate the flow from each o/p and to size a pump to achieve desired total flowrate. But will be time consuming I guess to tweek each of the valves to get equal flow from each o/p.
