  1. Food pellets soaked with Kent Marine Extreme Garlic works 100% for me!
  2. Both with me about 1 year and about 3+inches in size. Only will sell to those with 3 to 4 feet tanks so that they will have a better environment. Both at S$50, collect at Sembawang. No indivdual sale. SMS at 98154477, .
  3. Better be real careful with metal blades - whether sharp or blunt ones.... my tank has lots of heart-wrangling micro scratches to show. But it seems strange that they don't appear until some months later after you use the blades. You will see them clearly at an angle under strong lights.... I tried plastic cards etc but too soft though. Am using a small acrylic sheet (about 2-3 mm thick and about palm size). Personally find them very effective and glass safe.
  4. For LPS like hammer etc that can come with long "bodies", I try to buy the longest and stick them into holes among the LR. Thus they look like "trees" and other LPS and mushrooms will not be stung by them. In general, I use the alternative "high-low-high" (makes sense?) way to stack my rocks so that its easier to slot in the corals.
  5. Better get those rated as high as possible as you are going to turn them on 24x7 right? Mine is rated 1000mA and has been running for a year, 24x7. Only S$10 from SL basement. Serial / parallel? I just join red to red, black to black (fan wires) for the two fans I have and connect direct to the adaptor.
  6. Need to check that the base of the anemone is not damaged when you buy them. That's their "achilles heel" I heard. I have seen one LFS using a paint scrapper (metal) to scrap the poor guy of the glass wall! Wow lau -- sure damage the base lah. I would only buy those that are left on the sand bed and its also easier to check their base condition as well.
  7. Coral chips definitely was a Nitrate factory for my tank as well. Had lots of it in my sump previously and N03 was always super high no matter what I do. Took the troublesome task (FINALLY) to remove them in batches over a few weeks and 3 months later - NO3 = almost zero with no other changes needed!
  8. Used to have four tangs in my 2.5 x 2 x 2 living very well together plus flame angle, tomato clown, yellow warasse, bi-colour benny, gamma, cardinal, plus loads of mushrooms and LPS... Trying my luck I know.... Recently sold my sailfin and blue tang to somone with a 4 x 2 x 2 tank... the two tangs must be thanking their lucky stars now... Tang Police in SRC......??
  9. Just came across this site - the blue LEDs are rated 470nm and some LEDs are at 100 degrees angle and diferenent sizes available. Anyone want to start bulk order? I lazy to co-ordinate lah...... http://autolumination.com/fixtures.htm
  10. Ai yah, some of them are like that... no point getting angry. Uncle pork-belly at LCK 110 also "humtum" me once. Last year, I saw a very nice red LPS in the show tank and asked him how much is it. You know what he said? "Ai yah, don't need to ask, you cannot afford it one lah..." @#%**&*%%. I "tahan" and repeated my question and added that if he doesn not tell me, how will I know if I cannot afford it? Again he refused to reveal... You go fish farm is like that one lah.... seletar, LCK etc... will kanna it from time to time... Want good service - Ocean-Bio, e-aquanature lah...
  11. Looks like they are going big into selling MH stuff for marine buffs! But do check that if their glass is UV-coated. Bought my set from them a while back. Should have gone into MH right from the start of my hobby - went from FL to PL to T5.... so much money down the drain... Oh yes, I am not related to them hor.... just wanted to share this info with those thinking of lighting set up now. http://www.viclite.com/aqlight.htm
  12. Chong Pang in Yishun has a few hardware shops that sells them (near the POSB bank). Just completed my holder for my 150W MH over the week end.
  13. Went tpo ask them already. Said they ordered but do not know when it will come... so don't go ona wasted trip. Good thing I live only 15 mintues from that place.
  14. If you intend to do macro shots, look for one that's able to focus at the shortest distance from the object. I have seen some as close as 3 cm. Also start up time, shuttle lag are important factors, even for newbies for me. My Minolta F100 takes 4 seconds to be ready, almost 1 second lag time between pressing the shuttle button and picture capture, and macro shots only possible from 20cm from the object....... Its cost me more than 1K last year (with card reader, 256 MB SD card)! My opinion is that Ixus 1 has only digital zoom so zoomed pictures will lose some picture quality. Ixus 500 may be a better bet!
  15. both reserved by 10 pm last night. Thanks for the replies.
  16. These two babies are not what they used to.....now too big in my 2.5 x 2 feet tank. Have been with me for more than 1 year and fat and eating TOO well! Blue Tang - almost 4 -5 inches - S$15 Sailfin Tang - about 4 inches - S$10 Priced to let go easily but hope they will be given a bigger home to live in. Self collect at Sembawang (5 minutes from Sembawang MRT). Sailfin Tang available for collection from tomorrow evening after 7 pm (caught already and in my sump now). Will post collection date of blue tang once I catch it. SMS me at 98154477 and I will reply tomorrow morning. Sleeping soon....
  17. Some additional information, those born 1 year less 1970 = 1969! The year man landed on the moon!
  18. Its now a Indian MaMa store - literally - MaMa something....
  19. Just wanted to share some info on this workshop I have been going to the last few times I kanna kissed or kissed others... Toh Ah Swee Spray Painting 2, Kranji Loop, #01-02 Tel: 63660115 Was recommended to me by an army friend a few years back and so far, happy with them. Really dirt cheap rates but only for car body works as they are not mechanics. I remember one kissing event I had near my rear lights and a few workshops at AMK (multi-storey workshop Centre) were quoting me S$300 plus or more and the Kranji did it for me at S$90! My friend told me they re-sprayed his 1 litre car for S$300 (1 layer)! The only issue is that its really out of the way. Its just after the railway track when we are heading towards LCK110. Its one of those 2 storey flatted factory units. Hope this saves some money for some of you when you need it.
  20. Actually hor... I just came back from a marriage retreat and they said that men think with their heads (what! A diamond ring? Got too much money is it!) while women with their hearts (boo hoo hoo!!) And the speaker said we must communicate so... But seriously, it was an enlightening event as men tend to sweep things under the carpet and pretend nothing is wrong while women want to have closure for any issues they face. Those with kids, we probably are too busy making money (buried into work) so as to bring in the dole but we forget the orginally intention - to have a happy family. I have been treating my dear wife as a mother to our kids and had forgotten that she is my spouse! This is probably too serious stuff for many of the younger chaps in SRC but do keep this in mind - those pre and post marriage retreats are not to be missed! It will help a couple's relationship in the long run. It does not mean that you have to have perceived problems and need to go for such events but more from desiring to enhance the relationship.
  21. Ha ha ha! We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE! 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down. 1. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides.Let it be. 1. Crying is blackmail. 1. Ask for what you want... Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it! 1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question. 1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for. 1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days. 1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys. 1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. 1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one. 1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself. 1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials, especially during sports (esp. Soccer). 1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions and neither do we. 1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is. 1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that. 1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing" we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle. 1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an answer you don't want to hear. 1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.Really. 1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as soccer, computer games or cars, etc.... 1. You have enough clothes. 1. You have too many shoes. 1. I am in shape. Round is a shape. 1. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight, but did you know men really don't mind that, it's like camping. Pass this to as many men as you can - to give them a laugh. Pass this to as many women as you can - to give them an EDUCATION.
  22. Contact Singapore is they plan to work here.... http://www.contactsingapore.org.sg/
  23. Thought kalk solution needs to be "used" within a few hours of mixing or it will lose its "efficacy"? Anyone can confirm this? BTW, you mean it takes more than a day for your kalk to settle down? When I was using Coralife Kalk, its was about 2 hours. Now with Reefz, it settles within the hour.
