  1. i dun know which 1 is better.... but im sure that salt mix can maintain my lifestock alive and most important.... wateris heavy.... it is not easy to buy NSW from LFS even with car.... cannot imagine how to carry 20~40 gallon from my car to my unit...
  2. it is possible, but only for thoe hardy coral such as mushroom, leather.... mostly soft coral, as for LPS or SPS.... although some members claim that it is possible, i wouldnt take such risk...
  3. I'm posting on behalf of my friend... he owned a 3'x2'x2' cabinet tank with hood. the thickness of the glass should be 8mm. He is giving up his hobbie and wated to let go as a set at very low price: $250 (slightly neg), the setup incl of: 1) LR around 30kg, 2) 1 unit of 3'x2'x2' tank (8mm or 10mm, he dun knwo how to measure) 3) sump tank 4) weipro skimmer with pump(2012) 5) return pump (Atman pump if I'mnot wrong) 6) & other mics stuff... The tank & cabinet is in very good condition. Water still inside the tank to provce that there is no leakage.. The $250 charged is not inclusive of any labour or delivery changes .... spend more than 1K for the whole setup...... pls call him at 96951118 (Mr Lim). Do not pm me for any details. I dun wan to get involve as there is not comission for me I've posted some pics for the bros & sis reference...

  5. if you are free, come to Singapore for some shopping.... I think singapore pricing for aquarium stuff is cheaper and more vairety of choice tha Malaysia.....
  6. bro, can post another smaller picture? i dun know if it was just me or same for the rest but I cant c anything that you attached... thanks!
  7. u cannot use double sided tape to stick the ballast. u need to drill hole and use screw to hold it. Double sided tape will loss its capability to hold the ballast after some time due to the heat generated by the ballast (even if u are using electronic ballast)
  8. i had a 30"x15"x15" tank before, the glass thickness is only 4mm. Use it 4 1.5 years before I upgraded it to my current tank. The setup consist of 3.5" DSB and around 20kg of LR. Your tank is 50% thicker than mine so i think it should not be a problem.
  9. true.... u can always use these 1 month period to plan further what lifestock to get, landscaping, filtration improvement.... a lot of things is easier to be done now then latter when all the life stock are inside the tank....
  10. buyer will never back out.... dont need to wait liao..
  11. Hi all, I've enof with the algea problem on my sand bed..... I had a golden head goby shifting my sand for me previously but at the same time, it create a lot of problem for me caused it will "carry" the sand all over the place and some of my coral was covered by sand!!! especially those placed on the sand bed like plate and brain... wish to get something else to clean it up and heard sea cucumber is a good choice. anyone who kept this creature and could give some pros and cons of it? thanks!
  12. wonder how much water he need to change a day... the bioload is so heavy!!
  13. well, I think Singapore Gov did a good job on this.... If I'm not wrong, all hard coral and clam require CITIES cet and permit to be imported. However, to reduce the cost, LFS and farms try to smuggle in LS. Not that bad over here afterall caused AVA does raid those LFS and farms from time to time. Compare to other contries...
  14. how much does it cost? i mean estimated price range?
  15. look at those window manufacturer on the new paper on clasified section. Go down to their factory and you can find plenty overthere....
  16. Hi all, I'm have a pentax MZ 50 for sale. It came with a 28m~80mm zoom lens originally. I've bought a lot of other accessories and intended to sell as package. Bought for 3 years but seldom use. kept in drybox so do not worry of the quality or condition of the camera... 1) additonal 200mm~300mm zoom lens 2) external fully auto flash. 3) 3~4 special effect lens + 1 UV lens + 1 potective lens. 4) Batteries pack- uses 4 pcs of AA batteries for more economical reason. 5) camera and lens bag. 5) Tripod. cost me fore than 1.2K for everything above and selling at 1/2 price. $600. interested parties, some review on this camera: http://www.ciao.co.uk/Pentax_MZ_50__Review_50654 http://homepages.tig.com.au/~parsog/Guy/mz50.html http://www.betterphoto.com/reviews/reviewI...eviewItemID=661
  17. o.k, I'm not too sure about the CL 450 & CL 650.... but I'm using CL 300, its 1/10 HP and it is able to cool down my 75 gallons/300 litres (main + sump) tank and maintain it at 26 deg cel during the hot season. I'm running 7 unit of 36W PL + 60W return pump, 24W circulation pump, 20W pump for chiller, and another 25W pump for my skimmer.... it turns on for ard 20 mins every hour during the hot season (March~ May) where the room temp was ar 33 deg cel. during other months, the chiller runs only 15 minutes ever 1.5hrs ~2hrs depends on the serrounding temp. So far sitting in this room serving internet for 1 hour liao and the chiller did not cut in at all... From these fact stated above, I believe that CL450 and L 650 rating is not a gimmick...
  18. are those coral sand or silicate sand? think better dun use it caused if the sand is contain high silicate, ur algea problem will boom like nobody business...
  19. u can use it but be prepared that the lifespan of the tube will will shorten....
  20. just buy a battery operating air pump + DC fan operated with batteries for emergency use..... with an air pump. Your tank could last for at least 2 ~ 3 days.
  21. if u wanna increase calcium... kalk might not be the 1st choice. adding calcium (calcium chloride) would be better. However, it will reduce the KH level.... If you insist to use kalk, try to use the vinegar method.... as for the ratio to mix, cant really remember. try to search the past posting by other members here.
  22. brother... u should make it the other way round.... buy sea cucumber, free tube anemonie..
