  1. Come on guys, lets not make it hard on him. Pls don't chat in someone else's sales. I for one believe that $800 is a good price for a 12mm 5ft tank with sump. A new 5ft with sump and cabinet and complete hood will cost at least $1600. Too bad I already got my tank otherwise will definitely consider. Cheers and good luck to your sales. Good buy.
  2. huh? I never received any pm. Anyway upz! Tank and cabinet still available for $120. Transport and delivery included.
  3. oh shit I'm too late was away during the weekends. Hi bro do let me know if you got anymore to sell. thanks
  4. Thanks pospeh bro. Sorry for the late reply as I was not around over the weekends. Yeah I really regret not getting the 250W DEs in the first place. Now I am stuck with a very expensive RIGA light set rated 150W. I am not complaining cos its really good quality but I only regret I did not listen to my sps friends when they told me to get 250W in the first place. hahaha now I'm really kicking my own ######. Hon: Gosh I didn't know eballast is so expensive!!! I guess I really need to go magnetic ballast. sigh. What brands of magnetic ballasts do you guys recommend? And where would be the cheapest place to get it? Are there any differences in size of 250W DE magnetic ballasts between brands? Once again thanks for the help and info.
  5. thanks ozy. Yup I am selling a 2ft tank with cabinet. Only $120. Never used unless you count cycling for 3 months. hehehe. Can look at the posting of photos in my sale thread of the sale. Cheers
  6. Hi I would like to know if anyone here has tried the electronic ballasts for 250W DE. I am planning to upgrade my 150W DE to 250W but due to the lack of space in the hood, I intend to go for electronic ballast to save space. However I do not know if its wise to go for electronic ballast. From what I understand its easy to fit in, smaller, less heat and tolerant to various brands of bulbs and more efficient. Anyone know where I can get a good 250W DE eballast and what brand is good and reliable? Thanks
  7. Wah biangz you guys terrible man. Luckily I never posted my request. I had wanted to ask for free grade 4 sand (just need 2 kg) and free 4x needletype bio balls.
  8. aiyoh hey guys stop this lah. Lets make love not war. hehehe Wah biangz Flamer your signature picture damn funny man!!! hahahahahhahaha where the hell did you get that photo from?
  9. Hi, I wrote an article about how to control algae. Turbo snails dun eat red slime (cyano) or brown slime (diatoms). In fact there is no confirmed creature that will eat any of these. You have to take other action. Read here How to solve/reduce bad algae problems
  10. relax bro. Bwilly is just kidding. He is just a very straightforward guy who dun do advance signal processing. hehehe
  11. Wah biangz, you want to mold the statue of Michaelangelo or the statue of liberty?
  12. why yellow polyps???? do you mean zooanthids? If you want get your ###### over to my place tonight and I'll give you a palm sized one together with your rics. Call me.
  13. BRo I dun understand. I think using small rocks with putty is the cheapest solution (safest too). Just look for rocks and break them up to the right sizes you need. The plaster of paris looks risky. As I think its biodegradable.
  14. I have been working on a design to control multiple AC powerheads. Will let you know how it works. The method Tunze makes its life easier is it uses DC pumps which I mentioned in my previous post that DC pump speeds can be controlled easily using a variable resistor to adjust the voltage and this is how TUNZE works on. If only DC pumps were cheaply and commonly available. It is alot safer too. However there is a reason why our common powerhead and pumps for aquarium uses DC. The reason being it is more energy efficient to use AC for motors than DC. Also heat tends to build up faster in a DC motor than a AC motor. And the circuitry for a AC pump is alot simpler than a DC pump as no transformer is involved hence meaning cheaper pumps.
  15. I dun have that problem with my korallin. I just used a T joint to join the purge output to the input for total and complete recirculation. Saves all the CO2 and ensures no gas is trapped.
  16. yes you can but only if its a bnc type connector. And you have to see if its temperature compensated probe (must match same feature for feature). However it is still cheaper to get the original probes. Separate probes usually sell more expensive.
  17. I am still investigating. It is amazing the basic thing we often take for granted is actually so ingenius. Even the rotation is amazing. hahaha
  18. Guys, DC pumps control speed by varying the voltage. Changing frequency will damage the pump. AC pumps control speed by varying frequency. Changing voltage will damage the pump. A three phase (double pole) pump will allow two frequency swaps, 50hz and 60hz. Hence allowing a built in speed change. I am also not very clear how this works.
  19. bro can try pinpoint ph controller. Its what Henry of ML is using for his display tank. 9v battery operated and 2 decimal place accuracy with temperature compensation. Its the most accurate and value for money that I know of. You can buy from the jaguar shop at $300 plus or you can order online from www.marinedepot.com for US$90.
  20. Yup Ongmh bro is right. Less than 2inch clams need to be target fed daily with phytoplankton as they do not have enough zooanthellae to absorb nutrients from.
  21. Riot Bro, long time no hear!!! Where did you disappear to? Great looking tank and beautiful clams!!! Enjoy your trip man.
  22. Kent zoecon can be bought from eaquanature. I have been using it for all my fish feeds. Dunno if its any good but it hasn't made them any worse. I am also open to better vita additives. AT uses selcon perhaps he can comment. HEY AT!!!!
  23. Hi, I strongly recommend you look for Ian. He is our refugium/overflow diy guru in SRC. PM him and I believe he can work something out for you. He is a really nice guy. Cheers
  24. Sigh. 2ft PL still available as buyer who reserved backed out.
