  1. options: 1) Not sure what you feed your fish with. you can have a small opening for feeding. I think the chance is slim for you fish to jump out through this opening. If you are worried you can cover it up easily. 2) Your cover panel need not be 1 big piece. can be multiple pieces. just stack 1 piece on top of another to get an opening. Note: you will still have salt sprays on the cover panel. so more husbandry needed. and gotta be careful with cleaning the panel cause if you scratch it badly over time, you will have issues permitting light in. Also I think you will need to cut some opening on the cover panel - amybe a few long thin opening so that heat can dissipate through it else water might condense on the underneath = more salt on cover panel. Explore if you can create a frame using thick acrylic and then use net as the inbetween. either use some glue or cable tie to secure them? Can have 2 - 3 of these frames to cover your 3 ft.
  2. damn i need those heatsink wahaha... yeah these days, LEDs replacing a lot of bulbs. even the new lifts are constructed with LEDs already. Will domestic homes be using them soon ??
  3. will egg crate blockout quite a good percentage of the light? maybe a combo of eggcrate (for frame) and net. think there are some translucent net. I am just going to put an acrylic panel to cover the top for my tank.
  4. Ah soon? He's ok lah.. just seems a little grotchy. It is his way of communication I guess. Do not think he meant to be rude.
  5. Definitely at least LPS. If time is manageable, hope to move to SPS. Thinking of just getting frags since mine is such a small tank. Will be very rewarding to see frags fill up the tank. Yup know how it goes. Gotta convince the wife. I spend 4 years convincing her to have a small tank INSIDE the house. My previous tank was sited at the balcony outdoor due to her concern with saltwater sprays. hope your wish come true soon. SO yeah... as you said it - Good things take time

  19. Personally I would still prefer to have a layer (it can be a thin one) to remove the any unwanted (unskimmable) particles. It helps to remove unsightly particles in the tank too. just my thought.
