  1. Good idea. I wanna fence it up few yrs ago, but,..... LOL My snails and fishes sometimes went into there immigrate to heaven. I think I had made a gateway to heaven.
  2. Any brands OK, as long as not china/taiwan brand. Qianhu one also works. Ammonia and NO2 easily settled. Although bare tanks, you can use them too but you have to dose once in 2-3 weeks. Why, I dont know, LOL. I measured and found from measurements, I need to dose more. Maybe bare tanks no LR/media so bacteria cant produce the next generation when your water current keeps pushing them around. But my reef tank never dose many yrs. Mopiko, storm also likes to find the lady boss, LOL.
  3. To be frank, they taste similar. Asked many ppl who had tasted kangaroo meat. Everyone said similar too.
  4. went down LCK today, plenty types of jawfish. Seems shipments are quite frequent.
  5. LOL, AT also advised this several weeks ago on either bristle worm or pistol shrimp. I think this one is better. A good reminder too. Good one, Lim. Just hope all of his bristle worms and bobbits gone in there and wallop each other, LOL.
  6. BTW, I would take this opportunity to change the water new. But seems you need too much containers. Try not to let LR have no water. No need re-cycle. Cycle is for new LR without enough bacs. If your LR are very matured, there will be no ammonia spikes. If you worry, you can dose thos bacs additive to prevent.
  7. There are sites said that these small worms can swim freely and will sudden nip at fishes gills at near. I dont think its so easy to trap these guys. They are most dangerous and unwanted compared to most worms and shrimps.
  8. Answer: So dont quarantine or dose. Let them be. Not my problem. Doctors, dont need to treat patients anymore. So all our beloved ones can go up lorry? Seems you a such a stubborn guy. No wonder the chimp is up there. I wont reply to your immatured post anymore. For those who are keen to see a reefer's problem now: http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...=0entry699624
  9. When I was a kiddo, I always have these generations gap, disagree with with older ppl. After times matures, I realized that I was not matured and sometimes talked rubbish in that past. You will realize this after you had grown up. Past? When you start to work, your boss will ask whats the age of your experience. You go tell him, dont talk about yrs of experience or age. It need maturity and experience in order to know whats the real thing ppl want. If you said young ppl knows better, I think a baby knows better than you. Lets call all the professor in your university to go home and sleep. Bah, immature talking. I see no point of arguing with a guy who has failure quarantine in a quarantine thread. Please see who is the guy who just came in and screw up others. If you want to know more about white spots, go and find out yourself. I wont advise a stubborn and hero acting guy. I see no point to further non mature moves to a kopitiam or here. Finally, the thread is created because the reefer wants to know how to quarantine succesfully.
  10. alamak, dude, you still bring mummy into your statements? Sorry this is adult speech (tone is medium) and sorry that you are unable to cope. BTW pls check yourself first when you first posted here with such ways. Advised according to your own experience is bad too. Moreover, from your experience, you didnt able to grip the experience of 100% success quarantine. You like to see my 12g? Too late, I dumped it 2 months ago. Its had been 4 yrs serving. Now I am using 100 liters to quarantine. Few reefers saw that. BTW, big tangs are no challenging for me. I go for less than 25mm sized tangs. You dont need whole building serving only one patient. Hospital only give you one bed. I had been quarantined tangs longer than you started marine but I still would not advise based on my own experience only. BTW you failed doesnt mean everyone is the same. As a man, you must be responsible to what you have said.
  11. ammonia and nitrite is easily settled. You can buy those bacteria from LFS. LR and DSB is the house for NO3 bacteria which cant be bought and only grows very slow.
  12. You are very wrong. 12g tank can house 2 tangs for 2 months if you know how to quarantine. Done that tens of times with all sorts of additives too. You had given up quarantine because of bad experience and unsuccessful trials. So its not suitable for you to talk about quarantine here when this is a thread for quarantine. About the H guy, I saw many of his words stepping others down everywhere and trying to be hero. Well, its good to know that you declared that you are not that type. BTW whether oneself want to quarantine or not to, we are here to advise. As I said risk is yours and we only advise according to what is base on the professional sites and our experiences. If you have no problem with no quarantine, do you think everyone will be the same? If something bad happened and all the fishes died on a reefer, will you responsible to what you had said?
  13. Curious, Do have you a quarantine tank? BTW you have a FR, thats not ex toy? Lots of ppl have no such toy. I had visited few pages of your tank sites and saw you have some unsolved problems like your chaeto and corals. You can find the informations on those professional sites too.
  14. I totally disagree with you. Leeches and itch are totally different. Leeches will suck and never give up on its host until the host has no more blood. Leeches life cycle is also different. Please do not compare something that is irrelevant. Your explaination that the main tank will always have out-break and little ich. Congratulations to you. You didnt do a good quarantine and thinks differently. Well, thats your tank and not my tank. My tank will not have any of these problems. No need to see your tank, what for? Time to time different. About those toys, depends on ppl setup. Some ppl have money so they buy expensive ones. If you and me are stingy, but still have to respect these ppl. Some ex toys are also good toys. You just based on your own view so I wont be calling you as I dont need such infos. I dont explain based on my experience only, but I do uptake all the informations from the professionals sites too. Please read up more before giving correct advises which I saw that you are lack of informations. Just dont tell me that you are better than these professionals. They have financial support and research labs. Furthermore they are in this as career. We just dont want to explain and explain again while someone just came in and give wrong informations. Its very tiring. I see you as though alike a reefer, H**z* want to be a hero and overcome others advices eventhough has not much infos or even wrong infos. If you want, please come in here everyday and advise. I am very happy to let you do it. BTW I dont think giving advices here earns you a hero title. This is one of the site for your education. You must read multiple sites till enough infos. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cl...&articleid=2420 Peace. I hope so.
  15. You must have 400W MH for such a depth.
  16. Bio ring is for freshwater. Try to concentrate internet search and readings on anaerobic bacteria on NO3. That will let know what you need most and design for your sump.
  17. I think too many algae. Or have to rescape your tank. In the wild, seahorse search for food. Your charms so strong and now everywhere in the world attracted by your charm but you selling off and decomm, LOL. Stay a while and monitor, maybe OK.
  18. If your tank has very high turnover rate like a small ocean, you can measure after 6 hrs. If you kiasu, make it 24 hrs.
  19. You can do this too without light. Bacteria prefer no light
  20. when a large bobbit worm is waiting for a prey, it will stand still opening its fangs/teeth. You try to hook a bait and when it clamp down the bait, gotcha. BTW your line must be tough enough to witstand the cut-off from its teeth. But if your bobbit worm is a small one, perhaps you can lure it to a DIY worm trap.
  21. They have clamps and teeth that will break your fingers for a nice meal. They are damn fast too. Get a male bobbit worm and if your existing is a male, they will fight. If its a female, the will mate. Then, the female worm attacks the male penis and feeds it to her young after mating... The male will be go beserk and you can find both the adults nearby easily. The bad point, you have to search high and low for the young ones if they had scram off.
