  1. What do you plan to keep in your tank? If you going to keep triggers and other large or predatory fish..... those little mantis won't be a problem. In fact, might well become fish food.
  2. Most, especially those captive bred ones will if there is no other choice. But when a bigger more shiok anemone is available for them to rub their bums against..... there they go. Fickle little groupies they are!
  3. Even the famous large scale aquariums like the Monaco Aquarium and the Sydney aquarium which are about as close to the actual natural reefs as you can get require 'maintenance' what makes these clowns think they can create a small scale reef that is maintenance free? Same thing as those small time clown companies who make engine oil additives. Oil giants like Mobil and Shell with their billion dollar R&D budgets come out with good engine oil. Then people thrust some unknown company and add their additives to their precious vehicles. Sorry if i am off topic but this case really reminds me of this. People who try for the cheap and easy way out. If you can't be bothered to do basic maintenance for something, don't get into it! Same goes for both above cases!
  4. 12mm tempered????? It's not all about the thickness of the glass. Bracing and stiffeners at all major points should be considered.
  5. seems awfully big for a flatworm....
  6. How i wish my fishies would be so easy to feed.......
  7. It's not your equipment that makes a tank thrive. It's the entire set up itself.
  8. to avoid all mishaps, what about donating it to my tank My Lined Tang just passed on.... so sad....
  9. I think u got yourself an Alien running loose in your tank. Probably a mantis, is it a new tank?
  10. There was a thread some time back with all sorts of games. Unfortunately I couldn't find it. Anyway, i've been wasting plenty of time on this simple yet addictive game i found. Have fun folks. Squares Game Those with small monitors might find the game harder.... don't even bother with a touch pad!
  11. weather only good for one thing..... ____________________ Time to wash and hand keep all yr gear liao lo...... nowadays go walking on the beach also problem, let alone diving. In order to keep all yr stuff nice and fresh for the next season, here are some tips. Thoroughly dry your neoprene stuff. Once dry, powder the internals. This wll help keep the material supple. Also it will make wearing it the next time so much easier. Shake out your regs before storing. Nothing like that little moisture to really stick out a cabinate. Separate your BC inner tubes and powder also. Store your fins flat unless u want to look like Ronald MacDonald the next time u wear them. Remove the batts from your torch. Oil your knives. Stainless simply means stain less than normal. Thats about it.... anyone else with more tips pls do share.
  12. I think u mean 'additives' not addictives...... Heroin and opium are addictives..... I shall leave the explanation to those technically inclined. Personally, i believe with regular water changes you should not need to add anything....
  13. I read somewhere that an Achilles needs to be kept in a tank which also houses a yellow tang. Something to do with the yellow tang's waste containing some trace element needed for AT's survival. Can the Tang brigade out there verify? Cheers.....
  14. I sense harlequin shrimp owners are the ones in this thread....
  15. my tangs seem to like The bits u see at the beach..... seldom will grow because they are usually the bits which have been broken off from the main colony. However, sometimes you might come across like a BIG bundle in the sea..... those have higher chance.
  16. Somewhere along your lines, there is greater flow than there is water. So air is being sucked along. 2 most common places is 1) overflow going down to sump: flow into compartment too slow or your exhaust pipe is too large. 2)sump return: over-rated pump. Both easy to solve if you have valves installed.
  17. These kind stuff always look worst than the situation really is. All the best and GET WELL SOON!

  19. Not really interested in getting any more things....... It's the last fish on my wish list.
  20. Do you mean floating on the water surface or IN the water?
  21. Too late to check liao..... No problem.... Going straight down there tomorrow!
  22. I second the above! I can totally understand where DA is coming from. I got into this hobby because i really love the sea. To see some people with lots of money but little brain ask basic beginner questions at LFS (which IS GOOD!!!) then buy some really delicate fishies or fishies which are known to be poor survivors in captivity is really heart breaking. the ppl at the LFS are not likely to turn away business. Sometimes wanna give tell them off also cannot. The worst is when you see ppl buy equipment and stuff and straight buy a load of livestock! ___________________________________________ On a similar note: PLEASE STOP BUYING CLEANER WRASSES !!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is the fish very likely to DIE in your tanks, you are also depriving the fish in the sea from parasite control!!!! Thus more fishies in the sea will suffer too!
  23. When did you get from Iwarna????? Any more? I've been searching for this for YONKS!
  24. Somehow many shops seem to stock these percs with extra black. Seldom see them like that in the wild. ______________- As for Coralfarm, they have some of the strangest clowns around. often hybrids! Very interesting indeed. Prices are naturally very interesting too. Esp for their so called 'paired' ones.
