  1. Hi all, may I know where is GO. Saw from previous replies that they have SPS. Any other LFS with good selection of LPS also?
  2. Good discussion here. I suppose I have confirmed my 13Amp limitation per socket. As of now, my wattage consumption is still within the limit. The only concern I have will be the use of extension cords via a multi plug on the main socket. I guess there's nothing I can do except to get an electrician to install another wall socket. But will be quite a bit of chore
  3. Hi guys, I read from earlier thread that alloable amphere per socket is 13Amp. Is this the limitation for all HDB flat? My flat is 20+ yrs old. As there is only 1 main socket near my tank, all required power is drawn from that one source with the aid of extension cords. Any information is much appreciated
  4. Thanks! Have you got any experience to share rgding this magnetic holder?
  5. Hi guys, Sometime back, I remember reading somewhere on the availability of 3rd party accessories that can be fitted on Seio wavemakers to make it magnetic-mounted, making it something like Vortech. Thus, no restriction compared to using the mounting brackets. Anyone can advise if such accessories are available.
  6. Hmm.. Hopefully its e case. I will check it out later tonight. But can i reach it simply by removing the front panel or do i have to unscrew the whole casing?
  7. Hi Guys, I have a resun 450. A few days ago, it started producing loud noises all of the sudden in the mid of the night. And its not the usual sound that comes from the usual kick-in. Anyone with similar chiller woe and care to share some advices? benson
  8. Hi guys, thanks for the replies. My current aint that strong, and they are all blowing in other directions, not towards the corals. The prata also sort of detaching and its on the sandbed, where current is at the minimal. Hmm.. i am wondering if there's any supplement which my tank could be lacking. The detached octo i had still survived after it dropped out of its white skeleton. But it didnt survive long thou. All the past encounters i had were meltdown. But this time looks diff.
  9. Hi guys, Encountered the above prob in my tank. The Hammer and octo. The prata seems to be following suit. The whole coral detaching themseleves from the white base. Any idea what causes it?
  10. Just want to share.. I had a dymax pump3000 the other time, wanted to use for chiller and other equipment. I use internally, the water turned from cool to lukewarm. It's that HOT... I tried externally and after a few hrs, i touch the pump, it is almost unbearably hot to touch. So my conclusion is that dymax pump is super duper heat producing.... either that or i got a faulty one Spend a bit more money buy a better pump shd be worth it.. like that then ur chiller wun need to cool down as often i guess
  11. Thanks for the reply.. I doubt its coralline algae.. and i dun have digicam with me now. I try to see when i can post a pic..
  12. Hi.. Are those red patches that formed on rocks some form of algae? It's dull red kind.. not coralline algae colour..
  13. Heard from shop owners that branch LR are no longer being imported into Sg. Is it being banned or sth?
  14. Hi.. Wanna ask the above. Any shops still selling? and what's the approximate selling price?
  15. Is there a recent coral shipment for reborn? Also, anyone knows the opening hours for the corals and equipment section in reborn?
  16. It depends on the amt of water moverment u want and need in ur tank. I have a 820 and a 620 for my 3ft but i am not satisified with their current. Maybe a tunze can replace those 2.. and i believe the movement by tunze is better than seio too.. and lower wattage.
  17. This dymax pump is meant for insump and external usage.. they have a water inlet pipe. I run once in my sump and it turned my 3 ft tank from 'cool to touch' temp to lukewarm kind of temp.. I will try to split the flow from this pump and see if it rectifies the heat prob
  18. hello.. I have a dymax pump which is super hot after operating for just 1 hr plus lidat.. It is running outside water to power my chiller. Anyone using dymax pump experience this heqat prob too? The pump faulty? I have another explanation for this heat thing.. the outlet of this pump is of a certain diameter, but i fit this to a smaller diameter tubing. So effectively, i am restricting the ourflow from the pump. Could this be the reason that cause the pump to generate so much heat? It is really hot to touch.. i off it as i deem it's too dangerous liao any opinion on this matter?
  19. yeap.. agree. Get a decent extension socket to be safe. It's worth the money.
  20. Okay, i hooked up the chiller liao. Took me so long just to attach all the hoses and do up the additional powerpoints in my cabinet. I used ehiem tubing afterall.. from the chiller outlet link into my cabinet. Then i use cable tie to attach the ehiem tube to my pipings, sort of to provide a backbone. So it looks quite neat Now just pray no leakage anywhere along the joints at the tube
  21. Oh... mine is not I bought an extension cord and it states the maximum wattage load must not exceed 3000watts. My total wattage is less than 1000watts, is it considered safe? I guess i cannot add anymore heavy wattage equipment liao...
  22. I see.. i also find dealings with pipes to be more troublesome. Hmmm.. i prob be using tubings and try my best to make things as neat as possible.
  23. Hi guys, I have 1 wall socket which i have been relying for all my aquarium electricity needs all along. I use a multi plug and have another multiple sockets extended from it. Now, becos of addition of new equipments, i need more sockets and intend to have another multiple socket extension inside my cabinet. But how safe is this arranegement? I will then have 2 multiple sockets linked to a multiple plug. Is it considered socket overload? I know 'piggy-back' multiple sockets is overload.. but in this case lei?
  24. Hi guys. I have just gotten a chiller from a bro here and gg to hooked it up to my tank tmr. IIt will be out of the cabinet due to space constraint. Right now, i may just use ehiem soft tube to link it back to my sump tank. But it may look unsightly and messy with the tube hanging. Any other alternatives to make evreything looks neater? Do u guys use pipes instead of soft tubings?
