  1. It shouldn't have anything to do with ur lightings. U upgrade ur light so it's for the better... Could be with ur salinity...A change in salinity could affect the coralline algae. Calcium is necessary for coralline algae to grow...so maybe u will like to look into this area. Just my 2cents worth
  2. I like the way u stack ur Lr... and my tank is with me for 7 mths and there still are algae pro... they are here to stay
  3. My goby had the same pro as ur mandrain when i first bought it... One of this thing stuck onto it's body. tried catching but failed...so left it. Then after 1 or 2 day, i noticed the bugger dropped off liao. trying to catch and physically removing them maybe too stressful for your fish in my opinion. leave it and see wat happens in a day or 2 time...
  4. Hi guys, Well...i was feeding my fishes then i saw this white thing on my yellow tank eye. It's only on one side. Any idea what's that? It was still feeding normally just now...
  5. Does the placement of the skimmer affect its performance? ie. Does hang-on tank skimmer requires a higher rating pump to supply the required pressure as compared to one tat's placed in the sump assuming they are the same model?
  6. hi guys, I have a weipro 2011 skimmer for the last 6 mths. It never gave me black kopi-o... I want to do something abt it. Currently, my skimmer is pumped by AT104 pump rating is 1800l/h but i kind of doubt it's capability. My skimmer isn't producing much foam and as a result, there's little or no skimmate @ all. I've tried adjusting water flow rate but still can't get good skimmate. Either too diluted or no foam... I was thinking shd i get a higher rated pump like reefer rxy did. will tat help or are there any other possible problem? Thks...
  7. SO where got sell CS? No need big just normal size one? looking for blood shrimp oso...
  8. How old was ur friend's marine tank? Was it with him for a long while b4 it finally gave way?
  9. Does anyone knows what should be the optimum level of iodide in our tank? I am considering kent iodide solution. I think someone mentioned seachem iodide solution too. How much is the seachem solution anyway and where can i get one? i will try clementi 328 ...hope they have.
  10. Hi guys, Wanna know if iodine is essential for soft corals to do well? ie mushroom and button corals. some of my button isn't doing well and i've read from the net that iodine is rather essential. If so, are there any recommended brands? IS Kent iodine gd? Thanks...
  11. What abt live plankton like DT? I believe they will not pollute the water too much.
  12. They require good flow of current but not extreme strong current(ie ph directing straight @ its face) since they will not expand under such strong current. Just enuff current for them to sway to and fro in the water.
  13. Did u repositioned it recently? IF yes, give it time to adjust to the new environment. Do check all parameters again and ensure all are within acceptable range. Too strong current will not favours the corals to open up.
  14. Hi guys, I'm looking for article on marine conservation. Anyone have good web links? Thks... Benson
  15. Go for a pair...they will do well together. I have one pair in my 35 gal tank...doing well so far.
  16. ML have shipment as in corals or fish? ANyone knows what corals reb0*n have now? Thinking of making a trip over the weekend. Thks...
  17. Thinking of going to R*bo** this weekend. Does anyone know when they have their corals in?
  18. What i learned from my experience is that when there's ich outbreak...continue to feed the fish with garlic soaked food and do water changes more regularly to improve the water quality. ALso try not to fish the fish out to place in a quaratine tank unless u can do so w/o further stressing the fish and ensuring the quaratine tank is of top water quality. ( If not, the fish will be further stressed) Ich will always be present in any aquarium but a nutritional diet will lower the chance of any possible outbreak .
  19. "Dusts" will always acculmuate on LR and when u do a major rescaping, all the dust will be suspended in the water. If ur circulation is good, there will be min. dust collecting on ur LR. And to promote coralline algae growth, u can try increasing the calcium level and having good water circulation inside ur tank.
  20. Pic 4 is a cauliflower... Not easy to care for. Needs to be fed with plankton for it to be open. Must have gd moderate flow of current but doesn't require much light.
