  1. Mmm... Why we top up water?.... because water evaporated from the tank... and the water is just pure water which is like distilled water... thus to replace the loss, we used distilled water... I see no reason why that is the cause for the a drop in pH. My guess is that our friend tank is still new... hence there should be a lot of dying off from the LR, etc... inducing CO2 which reduces the pH. It may be due to other reasons but topping up with distilled water is not a cause. In fact, it is good as it will not increase the PO, etc from the tap water.
  2. I don't think that it is due to the topping up with distilled water that reduced ur pH. Try to find the source. Good luck
  3. Thanks, guys. I have gotten the salt from reborn @ $60 (the tub at 20kg) as it is nearer to my workplace. By the way, there is a new carpark near to reborn. It provide quite a lot of parking places. Though carrying the 20kg pail to my car is quite a task. I ended up sweating like a pig! Cheers, guys.
  4. Thanks guys. I will check out the mentioned LFS. By the way, any idea what is the weight for the whole pail of corallife salt? & the price? Last time round, I bought 2 tub from petmart which is a year ago. Hence forget about the price and the going rate now. Cheers.
  5. Anybody know where to get a tub of corallife salt?
  6. Hi, guys. Any good recommendation of a good digital timer for my MH - 150W Iwasaki MH? I have been using a normal digital timer which I got from Carrefour more than a year ago and it keep resetting itself recently. Not sure whether it is due to the higher current passing through it. Hence would like to get a better build digital timer for my MH.
  7. Thanks for the advice. But dottyback will be too territorial and it will attack any new fish if there is any. Maybe I will try Gold coast.
  8. I am looking for long nose hawk fish to eat up my hitchike crabs. Any ideas where to get it?
  9. How to contact him then? again
  10. Thanks for all your valuable comments. But seems like there is 2 schools of thought here. BLV 20,000k - some say with a nice tint of blue versus very blue. BLV 10,000k - some say quite good versus a yellowish By the way, can I know where to get it? A friend of mine told me that it cost about $100 for BLV SE 20,000K. ... wat to get then...
  11. Hi, guys. My 20K Iwasaki Aqua MH (150W) has just blown out and I need to replace it. I am thinking of using BLV 20K (150W) MH. For the guys, who has use it before, what is your opinion of this MH? Will it be too blue? Or will it just have a slight blue tint? Or should I go for 10K instead? Or should I get back Iwasaki instead? Actaully I wanted to get back Iwasaki but ML (where I got my whole set of MH lighting from) do not carry the brand anymore. I hope to get some good comments fast as my tank is now just running with florescent lights.
  12. Thank you. I will get the mag. Anyway, the place at Sevenoaks is quite near to where I am working (Croydon).
  13. Any idea whether there is any LFS in London area? Might be interesting to see what they have here.
  14. Where do you buy the Sliver Fish? I am trying to feed my elephant ear. By the way, any idea how to keep the fishes away when feeding it? My fishes always snatch away the food from the elephant ear mouth.
  15. Thanks for your kind effort. I had done a search before I post this thread, funny, maybe I have missed it. Anyway, been some time since I come into the forum and I did not realise that there is a soft coral section!
  16. I have had my elephant ear (about 3 palm size) for half a year now. Initially when I bought it , it will feed on the bits size shrimp that I placed on its surface. However, after 2 months, it stop feeding the shrimp and the fishes usually snatch it away as it does not close at all. What other things can be fed to elephant ear? Is my elephant behaving normal?
  17. Can anyone share their experiences with Naso ###### Tang + Cleaner Wrasse? When I added a cleaner wrasse a week ago, the cleaner wrasse started to disturb the naso ######. The rest of the fishes seems to be fine with the cleaner wrasse except the naso who seems to be quite stress by i constant nibbling on its skin. Yesterday I noticed some brown marks on the side of the naso which seems like "love bite" from the cleaner wrasse. It is wise to leave the cleaner wrasse in? Or will the naso get used to the nibbling?
  18. Happened to me before and I gave away the hermit,
  19. Thanks guys. Look like the LFS bluff me again. I was looking for signal goby to help sift the sand which they don't have. They told me that this yellow goby sift sand as well... sigh... Thanks again, guys.
  20. Anyone can help me to I.D. this yellow colour goby? Does it sift the sand? Accordingly to the L.F.S., they said that it does the same job as the signal goby, is it true?
  21. Ya, I saw ur thread. Ur last mail said that u r going to buy new cabinet and tank right? Good for you. Made sure that it is chenai (maybe wrong spelling) wood - good for marine environment.
