  1. yea, the scaping part seems a little tough. would really love to see the progress,
  2. 4ft we're talking about 50kg of LR. $7/kg being the cheapest i've come across, 50kg would easily be $350. and i reckon you need about 80kg of sand for your dsb. $6/10kg pack being the cheapest sand i've come across, that's another $48. all in all, the sandbed and your rockwork will be $398, at least.
  3. not related, but here's somemore laughs.
  4. just wondering what it really is. i've seen it in many lfs but i have yet to figure out. will any user of the above product advisE? thanks.
  5. it's $1.50 tops/slab. don't know how many cubes but it'll last you a good 2 weeks at least.
  6. you're gonna get a crap load of diatoms in a matter of time if you do that.
  7. how much is a da? will it co-exist with a clarkii clown?
  8. yes you may add more sand, but a little at a time. not pour the whole bag in just like this. and the question that's probably at the back of everyone's mind would be which god forsaken lfs did you go to get all the advise?
  9. apparently, obsolete or not, those pictures are really very well taken.
  10. do not let me into your house.
  11. thanks bum. and it was nice meeting you.
  12. here is a good place. i've been coming here to find out about almost everything i need and needed to know. hope it helps.
  13. aikwan. do you know a shipyard worker?
  14. bwilly, the way you put it is simply hilarious.
  15. mushrooms and polyps, PL lights would be enough. but frankly, once you start with mushroomm and polyps. your future visits to the lfs will be tormenting because it simply boasts a wider array of stuff you can keep. (depends on which lfs you frequent though) therefore, to save money in the long run, i suggest you get yourself t5s. if you find the ready made ones too expensive, you can always have them DIYed. cheers.
  16. 3 days you say? well, i seriously hope you have learnt from your mistake and hence ended the torment and misery of the livestock. 3 weeks isn't enough if you ask me, i think anything less than 1 month isn't enough actually. the longer the better. before you contemplate on getting more ls, get more lr and more sand which will in turn benefit your biological filteration. but getting more lr would be as good as cycling you tank again. so yup. make your sandbed deeper, get more lr. cycle for another month. check your parameters. and if they're ideal, you're good to go. there is simply no reason to go about this hobby by trial and error with the abundant information available on the net. but making mistakes would be inevitable. hence, learn from them and you'll have a good time reefing. cheers.
