Don't mean to hijack your thread but this is a toxic product for any reef. You can easily kill all your fishes, crustaceans and even turbo snails. First tell-tale sign is your shrimps. If you want to dose potassium. Use kz potassium and have a peace of mind.
SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted September 17, 2011 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted September 17, 2011 Potassium defiency causes pale looking sps. Some people in reef central have tried this product with good results. Dose in moderation. Try with 1 teaspoon a week. You can go to the below links to find out more. This is a cheaper substitute to the branded potassium products in the market. I have tried it myself and my tank is fine. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1394953 http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...m&pagenumber=1 Quote Member of: Please visit us here: http://www.facebook....uaristSocietySG Facebook Group: http://www.facebook....gid=34281892381
SRC TOTQ Winner bellinayu Posted September 17, 2011 Author SRC TOTQ Winner Share Posted September 17, 2011 Here's another copy and paste post from rc: Great thread on RC about potassium. You can get cheap food grade potassium here: http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=777 The RC thread is here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...m&pagenumber=1 Edited for Cliff Notes version of thread: Some have noticed that with low K+ (potassium) their montis and other SPS appear faded. After dosing K+ at a rate of 1 tsp of potassium chloride will raise 100g of water by 25ppm. Dissolve 2 tsp of KCl in 1 cup of RO water and dose daily. At one time I was 200ppm deficient. It took quite a bit of potassium to bring my levels up, and now my montis and SPS have all colored back up.
