How to reduce Nitrite level?

Can anyone advise how to lower my Nitrite level, which is 0.1-0.2mg/l

while my Nitrate is 10mg/l ( both measured by Tropic Marin test kit ).

first of all .. try to use another testkit to confirm yr results. Or it could be something died and cause yr filtration to overwork. Most of the time, the ammonia and nitrite levels should be undetectable in a healthy aquarium

Yes, I did changed water,but my question is how to reduce its level and maintain. So that I don't need to have water change whenever the Nitrite level rises. Thanks

I'm using Ehiem cannister 2224 with bioball together with Dupla Bacter and baccies ( Bio-filtration ) also add in Matrix carbon and Rowaphos.

Recent Test results: Nitrate: 10mg/l

Nitrite: 1-2mg/l

Calcium: 440ppm

Water Change abt weekly or Bi-weekly.

Topup Water 1X per week depend on Water change is scheduled.

Cool. You run a cannister which is very efficient at getting rid of nitrites. The conversion of ammonia to nitrite suggests that the nitrification is working to a certain extent.

How big is your tank and what is the bioload?

Do you have a sump tank? Can try keeping alge or mangove with 22 hours of light. As I am keeping alge for the past 16 months, NO2/3 are under control.

My tank is abt 125L and with Bioload for 200L.

And Power Blue,

I do not have a sump. Intend to have one but space constraint in my cabinet. even if I were to squeeze in, I think the max. size of the sump would be probably 330(L)x210(W)x340(H) not to mention abt refugium.
