Help Needed on Filtrations

Hi bros , mind giving me some advice ?

Currently i have a nano tank ( 2ft x 1ft x 1ft ) and i have a OHF and a skimmer but theres a problem, which one should i use ?

As i have only one choice, its either the OHF or Skimmer as there isnt much space for 2 pumps.

Is there a way to use one pump on both equipment ? Exp : pump outlet to skimmer inlet den skimmer outlet to OHF inlet den OHF outlet to tank ?

Things i wish to keep are little livestocks and more of corals. Low tech corals that is ...

Thanks alot in advance ...

You could use a Y joint to split the output (parallel), but u need a stong pump to support both eqpt, which in return consume more elec (more heat).

I used to connect in series for my Q-tank, but usually this setup will not be strong enough to support the skimmer.

What eqpt are you using?

In the worst case scenario, if your tank has matured with lots of life rocks / sandbed, I would take the skimmer with high flow rate to ensure sufficient circulation..

As for corals, i recommend you to do some homework about the chemistry requirements.

Best Regards,

I will Op for skimmer if I have LR in the tank.

What kind of skimmer you using? Most skimmer comes with pump, guess you are referring to those hang on jebo skimmer which need a feeder pump. Or an external type?

It is wise to know the specification flow recommendation for your skimmer, before you decide to spit out the pump for more efficient.

Low Tech corals ?

Guess you are referring to soft Coral.

Corals such as mushroom, leather, star polyps, zoanid etc is easy for starter.

They are able to tolerate sightly high nutrient, low light requirment, moderate low flow for mushroom, moderate to high for zoanid, star and leather. You can have some interverbrate such as tube worms, some cleaning crew turbo snails as well.

Getting a T5 2ft , 2 tube is good enough for your tank.

Complete the Cycle of your tank Is very crucial.
