I didn't know where to post these photos so here they are.

I'll be showcasing a serious of photos of our microscopic marine creatures and corals over the next few days. Keep a lookout. These were made possible by some modifications of a QX3+ courtesy of marinebetta.

Close up 60x of brineshrimp eggs.

now at 200X....notice they are distinct pinkish and some are actually concaved.

Copepod at 60x...look at those large appendices...this one is a male

and now at 200x....look at those beady eyes. If you look carefully, they are compound eyes....and I could even see it's brain throbbing through that translucent shell.

and finally for the night. Damn difficult to catch him....a Rotifer at 200x. Notice the distinct green stomach and egg pouch at the end of him. The green stomach is proof of ingestion of phytoplankton.

If anyone can spare me or help me find an abbe condenser I would be able to mod this microscope to make it much clearer and more distinct. My next mod would be to use a 5W LED to replace the lousy light it has. Currently only using a simple mod of 5 x white LED to take these photos.

Well considering its not a $3000 plus dollar digital microscope, its results are damned good already. I was already surprised at how good it managed to take the photos.

I just need an abbe condenser to better focus it. By itself, this is about the best it gets.

By the way it only costs less than a $100.
