Is algae filter screen really work?

No idea is the algae filter screen really work or not ? No Skimmer and nothing in the sump, just the algae filter ? nitrate and phosphate are zero ?

Really need help and comment.

It does work but I dont think a stand alone ATS is usefull. Skimmer still needs to come into play.

Skimmer = Most important part of any reef enthusiast.

A sizable ATS may work but I don't think it can keep no3 n po4 at 0.

And 0 reading for no3 n po4 may not be a gd thing also

maintenance for a skimmer is so much easier than a algae scrubber...... cheato can do the job too..... easy maintenance.

Algae scrubber is proven to work and imo takes up less space, reduce carbon footprint(I'm using led scrubber), the best part is you do not need to change water too frequently(I change 5% per mth for my 600l tank), regular cleaning n removing algae weekly is much better than cleaning filter sock, skimmer cup, change po4 and carbon when exhausted. save money in the long run.

I have a scrubber running that grows algae well, however, I still run a skimmer and it pulls a lot of dissolved organics. On my tank I find a skimmer is still necessary with the scrubber.

ATS is good to have but it needs a lot of maintenaince, need to scrube every few days
