Dirty Sand Bed

i just finish my cycle. Can someone tell me why my sand bed is so dirty??? i am using tap water to mix the salt.

Think it's common... especially just after cycling.. brown brown one...my sandbed become better after 3 months or so... still a bit dirty now but much better.. why? hehe i also dunno.

My tank is 6-7 months old and my sand bed still gets brown..esp after large water changes using untreated tap water. Silicates will lead to diatom bloom

Diatoms. It's a new tank syndrom l would say. No worries bro..

Maybe can put in a few turbo snails to help clear the brown algae and also 1 smallest size black cuke u can find... how big is your tank anyway?

I think thats the main purpose of having a cuke in your tnak... to clean the sandbed of algae

be careful of the cuke though. later like mine got stuck in a hole and spit out all of its internal stuff. lucky i got it out fast.
