what is wrong with my skimmer?

used to have this issue when i do wet skimming months ago
resolved it by switching to dry skimming

now i got the same issue, despite doing dry skimming
what is wrong with my skimmer?

top left: the skim mate flowing out
top right: skim mate on neck(dry skimming)
bottom left: the foam is so "strong" that it pushes the cover
bottom right: cover removed

my issue is
1) skimmer produce too much foam
2) foam is so "strong" that it pushes the cover(bottom left)
3) causing skim mate flowing out(top left)

i have to wipe 2-3 times a day

been using this skimmer for years and never encounter such thing, until recent months
anyone is facing the same issue as me?
how did you resolve?

nope i never dose anything another than vodka

5-10ml a day, doing it since day 1

I observe whenever i dose stuff like bacteria or carbon source thing, my skim mate will be foamy

Actually it might seem like skimming is too dry. Have u try raising water lvl abit higher?

This is how mine looks like. Was foamy like yours when i restrict the air flow. I open fully and raise the water lvl. Gets better.

this happens to my ATB skimmer when water level is too high. try to raise your skimmer higher and see.

or mod the cup and connect it to a large waste collector.

Did the bioload increase?

manage to resolve the issue by lower my salinity by 0.001 to 1.025 and wetter skim
