he new Milwaukee Instruments MW-12 phosphate mini colorimeter is looking to get in on the action started by the Hanna Checker line of handheld, budget colorimeters. The small-sized Milwaukee MW-12 low-range PO4 photometer sports the similar size and function of the Hanna Checkers using quartz cuvets and a powder reagent to give you a quick digital reading on the PO4 levels in your tank. The Milwaukee MW-12 measures PO4 from 0.00 to 2.50 ppm with a resolution of 0.01 ppm and an accuracy of ±0.04 ppm.

It also looks like the Milwaukee Instruments’ line of handheld colorimeters is also taking a stab at coming in at a lower price than the Hanna Checkers. AquaCave is offering the new Milwaukee MW-12 for $44.95. We are not sure if this is in line with the MSRP or a special introductory price but either way it is not a bad deal. So far Milwaukee is offering these mini colorimeters in free chlorine, total chlorine, iodine and high-range iron models. We expect to see more variations on the Milwaukee Instruments side over the coming months.
