DO NOT STIR YOUR SAND BED! get a few sand shifters starfish, golden head gobies, black sea cucumbers , incorporate a refugium growing macro algaes such as Chaetomorpha., ( depending on your tank size... otherwise buy 2 each to start off with- I get mine from Ah Beng) you can get chaetos to seed your refugium , I harvest weekly so would be able to spare some ) furthermore : Turbo snails more for the glass walls...short hair sea urchins will munch on the rocks.

I had similar issues.
Now I run with a chaeto and rowa in my sump.
Sump is getting quite a few gha/ brown algae since I on my lights 16 hrs a day for the sump.
However, very little to no algae at all in my DT.

None on the sandbed.
I would suggest rowa in just a media bag if u cant get a reactor.
