Hi Ash,

I use a calcium reactor as well and use to manually input the co2 thru a timer.

There is no prescribed method for co2 count hours of input etc as the corals take in different amount of compounds for different tanks.

But as a rule of thumb do it very gradually to prevent shocks. A kh of 7 is still fine so dont gan chiong and adjust the co2 count or input times too much to prevent shocks.

Cheers !

I hand dosed my 2 part for the first few months of my tank. I dose about 0.8dkh a day. I try to separate into 2 times a day so that means around 0.4dkh increment straight. Which isn't really good for the Sps. I didn't get good colors back then. And it was troublesome too!

Hey Ash,If are using a CR normally u dont have to dose or add supplements unless ur tank has a lot of consumption for eg a lot I mean a lot of sps.CR will be enuff liao.

Hi Bro..Do You Think Getting A PH probe for my CR is Good?..

re: seachem reef builder

what you can do:

* find a small spoon (those for cough syrup is excellent)

* mix 1 spoon with 500ml water

* measure existing KH before pouring

* pour 100 ml

* wait for 10-15 mins for it to stabilise

* measure the KH

* if no change, you can pour another 200 ml then measure and so on.

then you will be able to workout how much KH it will raise per spoon.

For me, I dose 2 teaspoon in the morning

2 spoon in the evening

this is to maintain the KH between 7 to 8

btw you will need to know how much KH drop per day before you know how much to dose

do not assume that it is going to be always the same especially if you introduce new corals or macro algae.
