Just curious, what's the implications for tank or livestocks when sweating? Ain't its plain condensation which is dependent on tank temperature, ambient temperature as well as humidity?

No implication for livestock, but excess sweating might damp your stand.

Yes its just another term for condensation.

Reason I'm asking for other opinion on this is to know what type of setup will be suitable for a tank that will run in lower temperature such as 22-25.

Mine is 12mm thick. Will start sweating at 25 degree. when I adjust my chiller to 26 degree the sweating stop. Wonder whether there is any effective way to stop the sweating and still keep chiller at 25 degree

From what I know, the only possible way for you right now is to either on air con to bring down the humidity and temperature of the surrounding down or use a humidifier.

For new setup, I reckon a layer of thick Styrofoam around block glass panel and double panel glass with a air gap in between for the viewing panel should be able to prevent all sweating.

What kind of corals or fish are you intending to keep? Do you really need to go so low on temperature?

Recently I built a new tank from Iwarna. They proposed a double glaze viewing glass so as to better manage the temp of the water in the tank. Will cost an extra $120 but I did not go for it.

Well it depends on the temp you wanna keep, if its not too low, then will be pointless. I wonder how's the clarity will be like for those double glaze panel. Don't know got starpphire or crystal type for them?

Well, its just that i love ventralis, bandit and wrought iron butterfly which will thrive in temp 22 and below.

Thus am trying to find out if its feasible to do so in singapore without too much hassle.

That's going to be a big challenge in our high humidity environment.

Yup, maintain delta temp of less than 10 degC or custom make 18mm thick acrylic tank which I personally think its going to look kinda funny plus it cost a bomb.

I work in wine industry and I notice 2 ways my work counter this(not in tanks though). In our cold room inside 13degree and out 25degree, out glass door is heated so there is no condensation at all.

For our retail shop inside aircon 18degrees to outside no aircon, we place a fan outside blow directly at the glass. Only during rainy days do I notice sweating...

I suggest u try placing a fan directly facing your tank a few days try if this works?
