Hey guys, is 20+ ppm nitrate harmful for a fowlr? I will be going overseas for a week soon, anything I can run to bring this down? Can't afford a bio pellet reactor, think what media I can put in my HOB skimmer or filter!

You can get de nitrate , work for me constantly lower than 10. Damn the banner . Didn't work out for me but rest of the fish does.

Where do you get this!

Do plenty WC and feed your fish half the normal amount when you are away... also wash your filter prior to your trip.

Yea will do that! But I'm also looking at long term if this will be harmful!

Chances of your fish dying from hunger is, at worst, 1 to 100 compare to dying from poor water condition due to accumulating fish food/ waste...

Oh I meant the long term 20+ nitrates, not the starvation.

Gonna go Bali later in the morning .. Just tested nitrate, hovering around 20+ ppm.

Changed my lights to led as they broke down, only 1 tube of blue, looking to get a white tube when I'm back post-23682-14171072267722_thumb.jpg

Hw i wish i din sell my 5 ft aro tank away. Can start this hobby immediately.. Now m stuck sourcing for tank again. Lol.

Haha recently there are quite a few deals! I didn't change tank cause no budget.. No sump abit hard to do stuff.
