The common recommendation would be to get the biggest skimmer that your sump (if you have one) or ur budget allows.

If you are going without a sump, u can either get an internal or hang on back slimmer.

The reason why bigger is better is so that u dun have to worry ur skimmer will not be sufficient for u to stock more lifestock within your tank.

Tunze is a good brand so is Deltec and Skimz.

Fresh n Marine is a good local online shop where you can do your equipment comparison.

You can also visit http://www.madpetz.com.sg//index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_180 and http://www.aquamarin.com.sg/abrand.asp?catcode=6&cn=Protein%20Skimmers to expand your range of search.

Some key things to consider (in no order of importance) would be:

- Skimmer Size

- Price

- Skimmer placement (In sump/In tank/Hang on back)

- Maximum tank volume (As much as possible do not get "Just nice". I saw some bros getting a skimmer that is effective for up to 5 times their tank volume.)

While you are reading up, do search for youtube reviews as they give you first hand experience from other users.
