Hi Andy,

I have chaetos in my sump & they grow really well..They absorb nutrients from the water, so i guess my tank has lot of nutrients.

As long as there is light, flow & nutrients, the cheatos should grow.

Dont have to invest in expensive light.. normal PL lights are enough.

Nutrients like ammonia, po4 etc. agree tat no need to invest in ex light.

I have my chaeto in my main tank as well floating in a basket and the are growing without issue.

The tank light will be good enough to grow the chaeto.

Maybe u can put in a container which allow flow thru the side. It might help.

u need a good flow of water in and out... if the flow is not there, the plant will not able to receive the "food".. "nutrient for these cheato are actually the waste from the water... these waste are from the pee , shit, uneaten food, rotten coral, fishes etc etc
