Not only does it reproduce natural seawater by containing all the major and minor elements, Marinium Synthetic Sea Salt is also enriched with vitamins, essential elements of magnesium, calcium, strontium, and other trace elements. With premium formulation, all of the major elements are in ratios that follow the Mercet's Principle of Constant Proportion; eliminating any harmful residue ions that will cause adverse effects on delicate organisms. All of the ingredients are selected for their high purity, ensuring absence of pollutants such as phosphate, silicate and nitrate. With a small grain size, low moisture content, inclusion of anhydrous compounds and blending of special chelating agents, Marinium Synthetic Sea Salt is able to dissolve rapidly and produce crystal clear seawater. It is ideal for long term use because of the high buffering compound capacity which protects the aquarium from a sudden decline of pH and alkalinity. In addition, dechlorinators are added which makes Marinium Synthetic Sea Salt suitable for chlorinated municipal water supplies. DIRECTIONS: 1. For faster dissolving rate, mix the salt into a separate container of water before adding into the aquarium.2. Provide strong aeration and circulation to fully dissolve the salt and stabilize the pH level.3. Measure salinity by using a hydrometer.4. Obtain desired salinity by adding more salt to increase salinity and adding more freshwater to decrease salinity.5. Remaining salt should be tied and stored in a dry cool place. Approximately, 3.3 lbs. of Marinium Synthetic Sea Salt will make up to 10 US gallon of 34 ppt saltwater at 25 oC. The saltwater solution can be use immediately but it has always been recommend to vigorously aerate newly mixed artificial saltwater for oxygen/carbon dioxide equilibrium before use.
