Bare Tank - Discus Style

Thinking maybe we should try the Discus style. Very often when we buy back fish and put in our tank with LR etc. They get white spot. But the same group of fishes in LFS - bare tank appear to be OK.

Question is, is it really better, I mean the bare tank - discus style, ie change water every week.

By being whitespot free at the LFS does not mean the LFS tank has no whitespot parasite. By buying the fish, there's still a risk whitespot maybe introduced at the same time.

IMO, better not to do a bare tank. Don't think by having a bare tank we can prevent whitespot. We usually provide good water conditions and feed our fish garlic juice soaked food to improve their immune system so that whitespot can be kept at bay.

agree but still a tank wif LR to create a nice landscape is a much better recommended one
