Hello all,

As we are moving to a age of technology. LED lights are replacing T5 at a very fast pace.

I had been patiently waiting to venture into marine... At first thought Woah getting a nano should be easy... But after reading and understanding the fundamentals nano tank wasn't easy to maintain. So decided to move on to 3ft by 2.5ft by 2.5ft.

Since already decided, on the size of the tank.

Next thing to decide was lighting. Well again reading up T5 have a better coverage, tube need to be change after every 7 to 8 months, high power consumption heat up the water pretty fast in return our chilling system need to work doubly hard all these will factor to our electrical bills. Right????

Woah so many dis advantages of T5...

The only thing I heard about LED disadvantage was, it was spot lighting... Ok if never accustom your corals they will be stress out and die off, coverage wise wasn't good, may not color up your corals as well compare to T5.

again these pointers wasn't very critical.

1. Coral can be adapted to environment if we are patience enough...

2. Get a better LED set for better coverage.

3. Color wise may have to compromise a little. No apple orange also not bad.

Plus I had been to so many shops and farms they have all converted to LED. So LED can be compare to T5.

So let me put a budget for my light set hopefully it reasonably enough between 400 to 600 bucks.

There a few brands that I always see.

1st AI Hydra series. 52 HD

2nd Radion series. XR30w G4

3rd Zetlight UFO

4th Zet Light ZT 6400.

So guys any review on these few lighting? Would be great to post some pictures of it, this will be great information not only for me but sames goes to others.

Waiting for your feedback thanks.

Your Budget is definitely not enough for radions, ai and kessil. You will probably need 2 hydra 26hd/ 2 radion xr15pro or 2x kessil a360. Which adds up to more than $900.

Oh dear I had under estimate the cost. I seen lost of ppl using A360 why was the AP700 not that popular?

How about Zet light series? As it even came out in the interzoo review. https://reefbuilders.com/2016/06/21/top-5-best-designed-leds-of-interzoo-2016/

The Hydra 52 hd I will avoid at all cost due to the lens it use.

The angle of the lens result in spotlight and burnt effect.

Its a good light if you remove the lens

Tune down the blue for phototaking.

Or use an orange filter.

No camera sensor can read the blue light accurately
