3ft tank 4x36W... no ferts, no water changes, no CO2 supplements

only soil based substrate and plants... but sadly been neglecting the tank due to other "salty" commitments...

Was doing perfectly fine until BBA took over... exterminated it with chemicals (BAD BAD BAD MISTAKE) but that took out most of the plants as well.. lazy to replace the plants ever since, so now it's an almost mono-species plant tank...

Mine 3x1.5x2ft tank.

Lighting-4x36w

Filter -Eheim Pro II 2026

CO2 -3lt compressed with external reactor

Substrate-Using JBL base fert with ADA amazonia Aquasoil covering it

Not a reefer yet coz still researching. Took me a year of researching and planning of setting up a planted tank. I believe will take me the same time for marine too.

My marine tank used to be planted.

Anyway...to fight black brush algae you need to do regular water changes...inject more CO2...and dose Dennerle's gold7. Worked for me. Swear by gold7.

Some pics to share...my tank lasted 2.5 years..before i tore it down as substrate fertilizer running low..changed the entire tank to my current marine. :)

Kinda miss them.. :(

Always something more important than fish.
