Anyone using Teco TK500 chiller, hope can help me clear my doubts.

I ve bought TK500 chiller about 1 month ago from C328. Set temperature to 27.5degC and chiller to kick in again when trmperature reaches 28.5degC.

Currently it takes about 1.5hrs-2hrs to drop from 28.5degC to 27.5degC. Chiller restarts abt 5hrs-6hrs later.

Can any1 confirm if this is normal operation for this chiller?

Chiller serving 60 G tank with sump, total volume abt 80 G.

Do i have to increase or decrease flow, temp set point? Any help will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

Your chiller is undersized. I use a TECO 2000 for my 80 Gallon tank. But then again, my tank is in the balcony. Takes 25 minute to raise one degree.

Oversized is not always a good thing. Some people are concerned with the rapid cooling and prefer something more gradual. Some are concerned with the extra noise a larger chiller produces.

Sometimes space is a factor. I usually size my chiller to be able to handle at least twice my total water volume.

I went for 4X because my balcony is warm.
