Tunze will be a better chioce.

The Red Sea only start and stop the pump to make wave. Frequent on/off to the pump will the shaft to break very soon. Also the on/off chattering sound will make u mad :P

I think shafts will not break but rather the lifespan of pump will be shortened.Scwds are also alternative choices.

Alernatively..a locally available device which switches the powerhead on and off in time intervals..

this device is actually something like a timer switch..... juz on/off only.... not pulsating current. ;)

Hi...

i saw this same device at Octopus Bay, I might want to fix a extra pump in my tank. How much izzit???

Currently i am SCWD, i find it work very well with 2 spilt loc-line (4out flow)and using pump flow rate 4800L for my 4ft tank.

above r the write ups for the red seawavemaker pg1-6. it looks like a damn good wavemaker...
