Some LFS told me that "mated pair" true percula clown are mostly sales gimmick trying to earn bigger bucks.

What they usually do is to put two similar pattern clownfish, one big and the other a smaller one (+/- half the size) together. If they dun fight, they will be sold as "mated pair"...then price $$$ will depends on unique colouration, pattern and comparable size. If they fight (torn fins), they will be separated and paired with another batch.

I bought my percula clown separately. Put in the smaller one (half the size) into the tank first...one week later, put in the bigger one. Fortunately, they paired-up successfully with no problem.
