yeah and its increasing. But let me ask u, do u really believe that they are really mated? Mating takes many many months. Does this farm really want to place such a big investment and very long time just to mate? Mine mated after 4 mths! Now after 7 mths, they share food, LOL. and they still eat pallets from my hands! nice ones.

I think as long as they dont fight its considered a pair by the farm. They will mate or not... well... since there are no other choices guess the fishes will have to mate with each other. LOL.

:off: Don't give the SDU any further ideas!!!:lol::lol:

IMO, forget about mated pair. I have 3 true percula clowns in my tank and they are bought individually and placed in at different time. They never fight, live in harmony together so mated pair more like a sales gimmick.

Here's proof :P

Errr. proof? makes me see ur clams so beautiful, hehe. Seems cant concentrate on ur clowns. LOL

If u guys wanna know if its mated, its easy! they will behave like a couple, dont fight mouth to mouth at all! and they will chase out the enemy if one is threatened. or they will share food turn by turn but they female will want to eat first as she is bigger, hehe.

i agree, but there was once i wanted to buy single and try to pair them up,the guy at cf told me that even though i put them in a pail and dont fight, when i buy them home they might fight due to water condition and so on so for..

is that true?

i really want to try and get non-mated pair and pair them up myself.

If I did'nt remember wrongly, clownfish are born without gender. At a certain age they all become males, whereby the dominant male would then change ###### into a female. So theorectically if you have 2 males, given time the dominant one would change into a female. Thus you would have a pair..

Always something more important than fish.

according to Coralfarm, their pairs are selected not based on natural mating *like husband and wife* but based on colouration and patterns and hopefully they will hit it off.

why do you think the fishes look remarkably similar? (= and where got $80....I just went the other day and they still had $35 for a simple looking pair.

anyway, I don't doubt Coralfarm when it comes to lifestock. never had any major tragedies/mishaps from there. yet. :P
