My first coral

hi,

wanted to get some fish, but instead henry advise me to stock invertebrate first becos the tank just finished cycling so need time to stablise. So bought a star polyp.

Now, what should i feed it huh ? Beside lights of cos.

Its both coral (soft) and invert.

Seems to do well without supplemental feeding

Never heard of anyone feeding it directly

just feed your tank as per normal (after u've got some fishes), it will benefit from it somehow

be more careful of yr fishes,if any,they do feed on yr star polyp~

mine star polyp went botak after it was intro in my tank after 3week~

I think not botak right? Just that they do not open cos the water condition not too good... Anyway green ones can be gotten from T95... they got lots there...

White star polyps are unhealthy. Bleached.

Star polyps need lighting, for a 2ft tank one 15watt bulb and one 36 watt bulb is good. They also need moderate current flow or they will look shrivelled up. If the temperature is high around 30 deg celsius they might bleach also.

got it about 3 months back and the polyps have grown and the tentacles have extended more lenghty too

Yep, its fluorescent green

Thats why im desperately looking for 03 actinic light..i wanna see it glow!

no need actinic ... so green liao .!!! when / where you got it from ???? hardly come across that green one liao

I bought one that's very green from New Trio (LCK110) some months back for $15. The ones I saw at Sealife are not as green.

Wow!! Nice corals!!! Hope mine will come out as nice Saw a bristleworm in the coral this morning..... hope it won't eat up the coral ?
