weileong
My MD40 also have that terrible sound in the begining. I turn it on/off a few times and then the sound is gone. Have been running since then without that noise. Perhaps you want to try that? IMO, i think your sound might have been caused by the air trapped in the impeller.....but theirs are the motor itself.... send for exchange lah....any warranty for such an expensive pump?? weileong
the sounds surely not caused by the air. It is very high pitch "yeeeee" sound. Maybe this pump needs to run it? Since mine seems to work well so I just didn't bother too much about it. Quote Weileong's 4ft tank Part I Weileong's 4ft tank Part II

SRC Member dersuz Posted May 22, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted May 22, 2004 My Resun MD40 pump also produce very high pitch noise at times, has stop using it since . Now running on my Iwaki MD40 from Benz, very quite as compare to Resun. Also Resun pump run very hot which might not prolong their life span, IMO.
