roidan
u wanna breed them? i have hordes of them previously and even after feeding them 5 times a day..there is some mortality rate here and there...not easy to keep them alive for long let alone breed them..but if you can..it's great news some died along the way and netted alot out as i had to consider water quality as i added more and more tangs.... they are nice....can't wait for a new skimmer so as to repopulate them Quote Advanced Aquarist (March05)
SRC Member rainbowdarter Posted May 30, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 30, 2004 Wahh....Bro..nice tank and anthias.. I'd read from other thread regarding anthias, most reefers have some difficulties keeping them alive....so far my anthias doesn't show any sign of stress or sickness. Do your anthias ever lay egg before?
roidan
never see them lay eggs before my tank conditions not good enough for them to get into mating mood i guess Quote Advanced Aquarist (March05)

SRC Member Chris Posted May 30, 2004 SRC Member Share Posted May 30, 2004 Breeding anthias? That's a challenge. In fact, breeding most marine creatures is a challenge. So far only heard success with clowns and cardinals. Good luck. Quote I think (marine) therefore I am
SRC Member rainbowdarter Posted May 31, 2004 Author SRC Member Share Posted May 31, 2004 Yup, big challenge...I think we need dominant male and female in a tank. This anthias do change ###### like clown fish.Currently got female in my tank....swimming together. Hopefully one of them will change ###### and hopefully not change to "ah kuah". Will continue my reading. Aiya...good beautiful fish not easy to breed....
Dispar_Anthias
Hmm breed anthias.... seem like a very difficult task to achieve.. I did pair up tri- colour anthias before but they never breed
FuEl
Some fish spawn by following the lunar cycle. If you have no way to duplicate this in the tank then these fish might never breed. Dolmo
I would have thought Anthia bred by spawnign into the water colum. Instead of laying eggs as clownfish and such.
