Something apparently clogged up and one of the compartments of my sump start overflowing water!!!

Luckily i was around or else can't imagine what will happen

1 and half inch u can get the male pvc thread from normal hardware stores.get teflon tapes(lots of it)as it will leak a little.as for pipes,get the eheim 25/34 rubber tubbing,fits the md40 like a charm.

you mean your sump doesn't have allowance for water overflow?

My sump has allowance for overflow

Its one of the chambers at the front got clogged(suspect its the wool) and water cannot pass through so it just went over

Those at the "5 Gold Shop" are very thin and not advisable to use in a tank not to mention a high power pump

oh I think I get it.

happened to me once. well. almost. I saw the water rising and I removed the sponge that was meant to reduce microbubbles just in the nick of time.

i got eheim 25/34 at clementi florist about 2-3 weeks back... not sure if they still have it. you might want to check with them...

Wonderful resources and set up. If I were you , I would not have spent so much on the beckett (biology not technology and you mentioned don't overskim too) and spend on both lights and wave making. At this stage, I guess lights is more imperative than waves. Then again, that depends on what you intend to keep. If FOWLR, any PL will do and save the Tunze too. If LPS, just get T5 or 150W MH. If your intention is SPS, both need good one.

About the Beckett, i decided to get it cause I got financial support from my parents

I am going for a mixed reef so I intend to get 2x250w MH supplemented by 4x24w T5 to fill in the 450nm

Anyone got lobang or suggestions cam PM me

Anyway, finally got my Foxface to eat cyclops

At the beginning, it can't even seem to see the small red stuff floating around

And I also got a Percula clown but all it does is swim facing down and would not leave my overflow box. I think it thinks that the overflow box is an anemone

Anyone experienced this before?

Got 2 problems I noticed:

1) The 2 air valves (closed completely still has bubbles) seems like not working as it draws air from dunno where and creates a noisy sizzling sound

2) The outlet has many microbubbles so anyone has any idea to solve this?

If anyone has experience or suggestions cam post here

try to close the compartment where the beckett nozzel is as tight as possible...i think there is some spaces in between the plastic screw where air is sucked in

yep that's the reason

now left with the microbubbles and this situation is made worse as my return pump further cuts the bubbles and results in even smaller bubbles!!!

maybe some liverocks and sponges can help a little as buffer...

cant do that as the outlet goes directly into the return chamber abd the bubbles get sucked right in!!!

noticed that the microbubbles are caused by the swirling.

when the bubbles swirl around, they actually move up and then downwards to the outlet elbow

is there any way which i can stop it from moving downwards?
