Asking some qns on 2nd hand cars

Hi, i saw alot of ads on straits time saying that some dealer only need $140, some $250++, some $300-$400 per mth to own one 93' honda civic esi. Is it really a gd deal or juz a gimmick? im noob in buying car, can anyone care to explain wad is PARF, OMV(open market value) means? and, are those ads realiable? or any bros here have a 93' and currently paying mthly instalments share?

its all a GIMMICK! my friend very free and he go to some shop that claim 0 drive away, low car price etc.....

after the explaination from the sales fella, the low price stated in the ads are the downpayment. $0 drive away no such things... blah blah.......

Ya man. Was actually quite attracted by the prices. But read in the ST Forums pages a few weeks ago that there was a downpayment to be made. Think around 20%. False advertising!

Well u know, I bought 4 years old car ( long ago ) , to my surprise, buying a brand new better car ( same brand , bigger engine , bigger cause like C to E class ) installment is same as my old car.

Of course , 30% down payment is not consider lar.

So I sold off my old car after driving 3 month and to more surprise, I lost 28K.

SO BETTER GO FOR NEW CAR THAN SECOND HAND.

Cause, it'll save your money by

- Having 3 years / 100000K warranty ( Where is second hand car with this )

- Totally brand new , so u know in first a few year , u need nothing to change. ( My old car brake down aircorn in 1st month , delar said sorry it's old car, costed me 1.5K )

- U don't need to worry by is't orginal paint or new paint.

- Cost is mostly fix, esp if u r buying europan car. ( So u don't need to shop around )

- Importer won't cheat u, ( no experience with parallear importer )

- Pay less interest rate.

- No hidden history of accident, scratch, No Malaysia summon.

- Brand new # plate

well, lot of good thing to consider buying new car ( IF U CAN AFFORD ).

So I'd learned my lesson and since than, I will pay a bit more and go for agent/importer to have less headache

and end of the day, I save more.

So far for my 2 1/2 years old car, nothing to repair. My first old car, costed me 3K over to replace like ( battery, aircon , brake pad, filter .... )

SO GUYS WAKE UP, ALL THIS AD IN ST IS GOING TO CHEAT U ONLY

IF IT"S SO GOOD TO BE TRUE, WHY DON"T THEY LET THEIR MISTRESS OR GRANDMA TO DRIVE.......

My friend drove KIA 2L car and about 600$ mean u need about 1K a month for all ( excluding downpayment ).

Mime is 2K a month , 1K for petrol and maintainance.

Yep my car drink petrol like hell 2.4L mar and my fuel tank is 72L. So one full tank cost 100+ and can drive (city) only 400Km.

All german car maintance are high, FYI

1 service cost u around 300+ ( not agent, agent will cost u around 500+ ).

yep, I need to svs my car like crazy, cause I drive lot. Not in SG but outside.

my car is 2 1/2 yrs old and clocked 100K.

and I maintain very well.

Well, I had 7 trips outside Malaysia. Been to Laos, Cambodia with my car. So wonder how much lar. ( Trip to Laos click 8K++ )

In SG I use my car only 2 week a month. Cause monstly I am outstation.
