Is that using acrylic? Where can i get acrylic with such a big hole. Just got 2 ac fans from SLT this afternoon, now, thinking of ways to mount on my tank... This looks like a good idea to me.

The acrylic sheet is 10mm thick. The holes are self drilled to fit the fans.

Most shops that deal with acrylic will be able to fabricate it for you but it is not cheap. I got quotations from three companies for that one shown and the asking price are $60, $65 and $90. It will be much cheaper if you buy the acrylic and drill, saw, file it yourself.

Whao! :o With that amount, i can buy a whole sheet of acrylic. Hmm... I've got a few acrylic sheets lying around at home, does anyone has the tools to cut that hole? If i'm not wrong, the cutter which looks like a mathematical compass can do the job. Any one know of this?

If you intend for maybe up to three fans, could try the below. Be generous with the hot glue when you make the joint. Another tip is not to press the two sides too closely, leave a 1-2 mm gap. It will provide a better bond that a thin layer of glue between them.

Bro,

U shld able to get them from hardware shop. But I think you need to buy at least 4'*4 '.(You need at least a 8 mm thickness to prevent warp.

The actual size and the hole have to cut yourself.

very simple. get a divider holder, those that they use to hold the aquarium divider top separate flowerhorns and saw one side of the holder off. then just insert a screw through your fan's 'hole' and screw it onto the plastics divider.

Bro,

How can? Those divider are too thin and the holes are too small for the air to flow through.

aiyah very very very simple one. but i no time to take pic. i'll see whether i can post pic tomorrow night or not cos all of my marine friends are also using the plastic divider to do our own DIY fan bracket. less then 2 bucks and reliable.

dont go out and spent unnecessary money

maxifire, u can get the fan c/w original fan mounting, it has safety wire connection and easy to mount on.

For DIY fan, the wire terminals is likely to contaminate salts and it can cause

electrocute. u can get the fan at Pasir ris Farmway 2, Marine shop.

it cost 40/- only and is quite safe.
