Pics of Clam Spawning

Hihi,

Manage to catch my clam spawning & took some pics. However, it died a few days later. Not too sure if it is due to old age or was it exhausted after spawning & go to heaven!

Pic below shows it start to spray out its sperm.........the whole tank was milky & my fishes had a great time feeding.

last pics as my dig cam ran out of memory....shoots!!

U can see the eggs coming out. it already clouded my whole tank...probably thousands over eggs as it kept spreading again & again.

BTW, anyone know why it died after that?? I thought it was doing well & that's why it spawn.

fyi : i have 2 more smaller clams & they r doing well, colouring up under my 150W MH.

It was doing well previously but I did notice that its mantle was sort of torn at one place 2-3 weeks earlier. Couldn't find the culprit and it seems to be fine until it spawned.

So far, my tank is fine & none of the LS or corals r affected.
