SRC Member christan1959 Posted April 22, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted April 22, 2013 Hi all, really interesting stuff you guys shared. But has anyone acheved LONG-TERM success with Miracle Mud method? That is, more than 5years, with good and sustained coral growth and w/o skimmer? That would be a damn interesting case study. U still need skimmer and the best example will be Chingchai tank on RC Quote Humble tank : Size: 4x2.5x2 ft - Display Equipment : Return 1 : Ecotech marine L1 Return 2 : Ecotech marine M1 CR : Skimz CM122 - Caribsea extra course media with Grotech magnesium Light : ATI 8x54W
I love angel
http://www.ecosystemaquarium.com/products/marine/miraclemud/miracle-mud/ The owner SY Leng have been runing different configurations of tanks for years and months, he always updated on his website. Best result is using both mud and skimmer according to the test if I remindered correctly.
kraken
i have miracle mud in my ref now, however to prevent the mud from 'kicking up', I laid a layer of live sand on top of it, was wondering if this is gonna change any positive effects of this miracle mud
SRC Member christan1959 Posted April 24, 2013 SRC Member Share Posted April 24, 2013 Thanks for referring to SY Leng's site. I am cautious when it comes to sites which are corporate-sponsored. I prefer to seek first-hand experience of local reefers. So if there are members out there who have had long-term success with MM, would appreciate if you could share your experience. Or better still, have an Open House. I'll bring beer!
