it increase both values in a balance manner....so in one way you can say it increase the KH and CAL.....however, a lot depends on your tank condition, some will deplete KH faster then CA while others CA faster then KH.....this is why it is neccessary to measure both values regulately to adjust they vaules if one drops faster then the others.....

so whelter you are using CA Reactor or dosing Kalk, its always advisable to mesure and adjust

Incrase..assuming no consumption....

it increase the pH as well.

Only disadvantage is you can't control the parameters independantly... at least I still am yet to find a way to do that just with kalk alone

thanks guys, normally i done some water change every 2 weeks, and i also have phosphate problem which coz the red slime alge problem. i need around 2 weeks to clear up those phosphate problem using the phos remover. and it still cant reach 400 mark of cal.

now i plan to have water change on monthy basis. and see what can i do for calcium.

You should seriously consider getting an Mg testkit. Get Salifert's, I feel that it is more reliable. Otherwise, you could be wasting time/money guessing what's the problem.

am thinking of toping up my evaporated water wit kalk solution....any disadvantage to that???

Topping up eveporated water with kalk is not reliable cuz your supplementation on hot and dry days will be high and supplmentation on cold and wet days will be low. In order to correctly supplement Ca and Kh, you need to test your water consecutive for a week to determine the actual consumption and than devise a plan to effectively supplment.

For me , I used Kalk reactor to replace eveporated water as the first line of "defense". however, I test my water for Ca & Kh twice a week plus I have an PH monitor to constantly tells me the fluctuation.

I only need to use Reefez Calcium + and Tropic Marine's Triple Buffer once every 1.5 to 2 weeks.

guys i was shock today, coz this afternoon i done a so called 20% water change. after finish i tested the water , my calcium is up above 420 marks. before change only 320

but my Kh drop at 7-8 dkh. will do something tommorow
