could be due to ur lightings or maybe your tank's temp is not right..if the temperature is above 29 degrees..corals may tend to lost colours n therefore leads to bleaching..my 2 cents :thanks:

Hi,

Having a little bit problem here  . Noticed my colars had faded the color.. how come huh??

Lighting too strong or too low will cause bleaching. Try shifting the bleached coral to another location. Once the coral is happy at that spot & operning well, & comfirm your water parameters is stable, you can dose tropic marine Pro-coral Iodine daily 1 drops per 200L. It will help in recovering the colour for your bleached corals. It will not happen overnight, will probably takes weeks to months.

Hi, another alternatively is can try to use Aquapharm color booster. This item will help to promotes bright coloration in corals, anemones and others. I have used this before and is quite good. Now the color of the corals is brighter than before.

Thank you Marineman,Alvin & Eric. Currently, reef keeping in 2ft tank, How many walt lighting is consider sufficient?

You need to provide us with ur tank specs............cos lightings reqirement is highly dependant on the height of your tank.

Basically for <2ft height you can go for T5 or 150W MH & position those light demanding corals nearer to the light source............a good reflector will help to cover more surface area.

For >2ft height you can go for 250W and above MH............ & position those low light requirements corals nearer to the sandbed.
