Those keeping AT , how big is your tank?

The bigger the tank, the higher the success rate.

Bigger tank usually have higher turn over and that is very critical to the success of fishes like AT.

my tank is a 4x2x2. seems like one of the smallest arnd. AT is nearing 3 mths old. so it would eventually outgrow the tank? its abt 3.5 inch now.

This senior reefer once told me.

If u want to keep an AT, start with keeping YT, PT, BT first.

If these 3 survives, keep powder blue/black/brown tangs.

If the powder tang survives, then maybe can try AT.

I am still at the first stage.

If the YT, BT and other tangs survives pass another 3 months, i will move to 2nd stage and then finally the AT.

If phase 1 succeeds, i will remove the YT, BT and other tangs b4 moving on to phase 2.

Eventually left maybe just 1 powder blue tang, 1 powder black tang, 1 red sea salfin tang and 1 AT.

for me, i add the power blue, power black and AT in one sho.

i really think 4 ft is the min tank, they are really strong swimmer...

Will a AT survive in a 3ft? Wife loves it, but doubtful it can survive in a small tank. If can find a small one, can?

Nothing to do with water volume (up to certain extend).

You can 2ft x 2ft x 20ft (h) and see if you can keep the AT alive or not.

They need the space to swim.

I have 2 purple tang, 1 yellow ,1 adult hippo blue, 6 juvenile, 1 sohal, they seem to like sera marin granules.....(( think best advice I can give , is observe the fish and its appetite 1st, if you can....)

By the time you wait for those AT to start eating (99.99999999999999% of them won't) in LFS, they are all sold or died already.

Unless you buy from CF or some other LFS that can make them eat.
