Anyone got success stories with a school of Golden Trevally?

I just got myself 4 and within 1 day, 2 disappeared....... the other 2 eating like there's no tomorrow....

I heard they can grow very fast too! The tiny ones can double their size within 1-2weeks!

really?? then i better leave it at 2 if they can survive... it looks aggressive too, maybe they will eat up all the smaller fishes when they grow too big...

That's what the guy at the LFS told me. Which is why I didn't buy them. I don't think I can keep up with their fast growth-rates! But their colours are gorgeous, esp when they swim in a school.

as they grow, they will become predatory.. and yes, they grow very fast and soon, u can have them on ur dinner table.. yes, they are edible...

U r right... they are known as jacks..

Yah, agree, the 4 of them were very nice on the 1st day. now left 2 not so nice .... really tempted to add another 2 again but worried about their sizes and their survival.

Heard it is quite difficult to keep them, anybody got long surviving Golden trevallys here?

Sigh!....I got 5 of them previously....within a week I lost all of them....they were all eating!!!!

ok, noted.... will monitor for awhile more before any action to add in more trevallys...

they are very fast and mine grew from a 1.5" to a 7" within 4months

Heard that this type of fish must live in a group!

I bought a small one which didn't last more than a week!! also don't know what happen, it was eating happily!

I suspect they might have become fish food for other fishes!!

To update:

I bought another Trevally to join the two leftovers last week. All three eating well with big tummies everyday, and they can really GROW!!!

Agree that it is great seeing them swim together...
