Diy Sump

Of cause you can DIY your own sump. You got to decide what material you want to use first. Glass or Acrylic. Glass you can draw your design and measurements and get a glass shop to cut and you fix it up or get the shop to do it for you. Acrylic is the same thing but you would to have alot of practice.

Another way is to buy a glass tank and silicon partitions to your design. Need more info you can always PM me.

I am upgrading my 2ft tank to a 4ft tank, what size should the sump be.

Try to make your sump as big as possible as you would want more water volume. But take into consideration about your other equipment you want to place in your cabinet too. Probably a 3ft or 3.5ft would be a good size. Don't make it too high to as you need space to put your hand in the sump for maintenance.

I chose to use a normal tank and DIY myself, just plan your own design, ask glass shop cut and silicon yourself, pretty easy and most imptly, cheap!

hehehe ;) how cheap can it goes if u already have a empty tank n just buy the glass for the partition...hehehe :angel::angel::angel: nvr diy myself......but mayb wanna try a new "model" of my sump....so how does the glass shop charge usually per meter sq......???

For a normal 2-3ft glass sump the shops may charge around 70 - 120.
