Jelly Fishes

Guys;

Saw some minature green jelly fish at AquamaXXX, very cute. Keeps bumping every where. So tempted to buy, dun have the guts to do so... seems like very difficult to keep, sure die if it come to my home.

Any keep it before??

ya lor....i saw few blue one the other day. So tempted to buy....my wife kept bugging me to buy.....

But understand from some reefer you need special method to feed them and some might excret poison.....

It looks nice but it will be a timebomb in your tank. And not to mention you wont be able to put your hand in the tank afterward.

They are practically impossible to keep in a conventional tank. There is a specialized tank made to keep these creatures where they are always suspended in the middle of the tank so that they are not thrown against the tank walls or get sucked into the powerheads, can't remember the name though...

I did try to look for info on the Kreisel tank, hoping that can DIY the tank. But there weren't much info online regarding it, so don't really understand how the fluid mechanics are like in the tank.

I did have some silly ideas but never really went out to try them. Anyone interested in proving my ideas don't work?

Yep;

Its a no buy. They are blind and eats planktons. I think they will definitely be sucked into the filter and powerhead. Jelly fish becomes Jelly beans

After that I think its toxic will kill the fishes. Forget it.

Still, they are cute stuff or aliens...

forget about buying and keeping jelly fishes. don't support the trading activities of jelly fish in local LFS.

What does this tank do? Look expensive for just jelly fish.

If I am not wrong, it has jets of water blowing off the surface to prevent the jellysihes from bumping onto the surface.

And these setups use backlights instead of normal lights and are SUPER EXPENSIVE
